Silence. Ear piercing silence.

Agnett stared at Eugene with watery eyes as her hands clutched the bedsheets painfully hard. "W... what do you mean by she doesn't remember me..."

Eugene took her hands into his and tried to keep her racing heart at peace. "I'm not going to tell the whole truth because it's Raven who has the right but I'm telling you enough to understand the whole situation. Okay?" He told her with a reassuring face.

Agnett nodded her head causing a lone tear to fall down.

"Raven has post traumatic stress disorder. She encountered a really terrifying accident after your treatment and it affected her brain so much that she lost her very recent memories at the time."

Agnett was too stunned to react as her eyes just watched Eugene with lots of pain inside. She didn't move an inch.

"She gets nightmares, hallucinations and anxiety attacks most of the time. It's severe when she's stressed over something or when she thinks of the accident. It happened right after she met you and that's why she lost the memories of all of us being together." He felt Agnett's grip tightened around his and Agnett finally averted her eyes to the blank space.

"It means, all the time we spent together, all the things we talked about, all of it is just a dream now. Is there any way she can recover her memories?" It was getting really hard for her to accept the truth and asked him questions hopefully.

Eugene shook his head. "I don't know. The shock was really major that's why she still doesn't remember anything till now. The doctors told us that it could be temporary or even permanent. It depends how she's gonna tolerate her fears and get over them. To my horror, she never moved on from that and continued to suffer till now."

Agnett remembered Raven breaking down that day out of nowhere and how miserable she was looking. "Is Jack your son?" Agnett asked, finally taking the burden off her chest and remembering the familiar name in the donor's data. Eugene nodded.

"How come I never met him?"

"You never met my wife either because I never told her about what I'm doing or where I was staying."

"I understand. She wouldn't have agreed your decision by then." Agnett replied and he nodded.

"You can say, his death is the reason she is going through this." Eugene replied feeling the numbness in his chest talking about his deceased son.

Agnett put her palm on mouth in horror and released a deep breath as tears started to fall off her cheeks uncontrollably. "Oh my god...why..." She closed her eyes tightly and sobbed loudly.

Eugene's heart clenched watching her like that so he slowly pulled her to his chest. "What am I supposed to do now..." She sobbed even harder, feeling terrible pain inside her chest.

"Why are you saying that? She doesn't remember your past but she's living the present with you. She still loves you. This won't change anything you both have for each other." Eugene consoled her but she was losing her mind.

"But I want her back. M-My Raven back! I want her to remember me like I do her! It's just not fair! I love her..." Agnett cried in frustration as her head throbbed.

"I don't wanna believe it... I- I can't believe it!"

The room filled with painful muffles as Agnett's dream of building a beautiful relationship with Raven took such a terrifying turn. She never expected something like this in her entire life. When she finally managed to get her first love back, life prepared something more challenging for both of them.
