Chloe's Point of view
"Are you going to tell me what's going on now?"
We've gone to the front deck and we've been sitting in silence for a bit.
Jayden ignores my question and looks to the side.
"Jayden." I say softly, putting my hand on his face and turning him to face me. "I cannot solve this equation unless I have all the variables."
He doesn't say anything.
I smile sadly. "I've figured some things out."
His eyes read 'really?'.
I nod. "You had a terrible nightmare...you can't focus in training...you can't handle your sword...and you won't even let me go near it."
Tear appear in Jayden's eyes and I wipe them away.
"You dreamt something Jay." I whisper. "Something that had to do with me and your sword. I need to know what happened Darling. That way I can help you."
Again, he doesn't say anything. He only continues to cry.
I hate seeing Jayden like that. I've never seen him cry.
I have, of happiness. But never of actual, painful tears.
It breaks my heart knowing the Love of my Life is in so much pain.
I think.
"What if I looked inside your head?" I ask softly.
Jay's eyes read 'what?'.
"Would it make you more comfortable if I went inside your memory? That way you have to explain what happened in the dream to me?"
"That takes a lot of Symbol Power." Jayden says, his voice dead.
I giggle and run my fingers through his hair. "I can handle it, I promise. Whatever makes you most comfortable."
Jayden thinks for a few minutes before nodding slowly.
"Yeah?" I ask, wanting to make sure he is one thousand percent okay with this.
"Yeah..." He says, fear in his eyes.
"Hey." I place my hand on top of his. "Whatever I see isn't going to make me love you any less, you know that right?"
Jay nods.
"Good."
I softly press my lips to Jayden's, kissing him slowly. He kisses back and when we pull away, I stand us both up.
"This isn't going to hurt." I tell him, taking both his hands in mine. "It might just feel like a little bit of pressure."
"Okay." Jayden says. I can feel his heart beating out of his chest.
"Everything is going to be alright." I say, putting a hand on his cheek. "Are you ready?"
Jayden takes a deep breath and nods. I smile and kiss his lips before taking my Morpher from my pocket.
I draw a symbol in the air. "Symbol Power: Look."
And like that, I'm entering Jayden's head.
---
As soon as I enter, I immediately understand how serious this is.
The team and I are in an empty clearing, all of us defeated and taken to the ground.
