Chapter Thirty (Pt.2 of 29)

Jayden's Point of View

As much as I want Chloe to cool down and chill with the "I'm the leader of this team" business, I know she's right. This is her job and it's not fair I'm telling her to relax.

But she knows I'm right.

She has busted her stitches twice, and cracked her head open. Not to mention fought in three battles and programed the Black Box in the last few days alone.

Chloe is pushing herself to the extreme! I don't know exactly why, but I can guess.

I think with learning Michael is coming back after we beat Xandred, Chloe is working tirelessly to keep the world safe and protect it while we wait for the main battle.

My girlfriend has nothing else to do! Her whole life has been training to defeat Xandred and keep the world safe.

She's never done anything else; following the routine of waking up, training, eating and going to bed, simply to do it all again the next day.

I always wonder what is going to happen when we no longer have to fight. I know I am going to be with my beautiful girlfriend, but what do we do?

Ever since we were younger, we've all waited for the battle. Now we are fighting, but what happens next?

Kevin can go back to swimming, Mike can go back to gaming, Mia can go back to (and improve her) cooking, and Emily can go back to her sister and her farm life.

Me? I don't know. I just know I want to be with Chloe.

But what does Chloe want to do?

Chloe wants to fight. That's all she's been doing.

I don't care if Chloe is going to continue training when the battle is over. I want her to do whatever makes her happy.

And I know that's what she's doing now.

She may be pushing herself to the max, but she's following her destiny. How can I tell her to stop?

I want my girlfriend to live her life to the fullest.

But is fighting monsters doing that?

In Chloe's eyes, it is. And I think that narrative is clouding her mind and the possibilities of the future.

When we beat Xandred and we get Michael back, I know he will be by my side while trying to get Chloe to live her life.

Until then, I'm going to be with my Beautiful Baby Girl and help her through everything.

Even if that includes stitching and restitching her up, and watching her bust her ass.

I made a promise to myself to be there for my girlfriend every day of her life...

And I'm not going to break it just because she can never get a fucking break.

I follow Chloe out the door and find her in the living room with the team and Gabe.

"Cody should have listened to me." Gabe says, thanking Mia for the tea she gives him.

He sighs. "I'm so worried about him."

"His bond with the Bullzord," Chloe says, making herself known to the room. "Even our Zords, is so strong."

Everyone lifts their head to Chloe.

"Are you alright Red Ranger?" Gabe asks, walking to Chloe and taking one of her hands.
