Jayden's Point of View

Chloe falls asleep in my arms and I carefully take her to her bed, laying her down.

I remove her top, revealing her bandaged covered chest, as well as her leggings, freeing her of any restrictions as she sleeps.

Never in the time Chloe and I have been dating has she ever had a panic attack like this. I was able to spot it once I was finished my rant, and I'm happy she's asleep now. She was shaking and crying, spilling a bunch of false information...

The thing is, Chloe doesn't lie. She doesn't just say things. Everything she says, she has been thinking.

So when she says she's a failure, she's been thinking that. When she says she's not doing her job, she's thinking that as well.

It hurts so much witnessing Chloe breakdown so easily in front of me just because of one final thing. It seems like she was a ticking time bomb and the news and realization about Serrator caused he to go boom.

I should've seen this before. I know she has a lot on her plate with her Ranger duties, and as her boyfriend it is my job to make sure she is never feeling the way she is feeling.

But I know Chloe can handle everything. I know Xandred and Serrator and Oakley and her dad and this and that...I know she can handle it.

What I didn't know was when she was going to explode.

I need to work on taking the load off her. My Beautiful Love shouldn't have to fall asleep, exhausted after her panic attack.

Because that's what happened. The fluid calms her body, putting it to rest. She's been so overworked and she's so weak, she fell asleep just like that. I could tell this all happened and I had her count to ten, making it easier for her to fall asleep.

I can't have this happen again. I can't have her this weak from battle, then this stressed from her duties, and this insecure and sad at the outcomes of her works. No! It can't happen.

This is a lesson I have learned because not only is Chloe hurt, I am as well.

This is never going to happen again.

As Chloe lays, I grab some warm water and pat her body with it, soothing her high points and her injured skin.

As I work, Oakley slowly comes up to me.

How is it possible that a puppy can wear a sad smile?

"Hey, Buddy." I greet the little pup, petting him before returning back to Chloe. "I'm sorry for all the yelling..."

The yelling is something I also feel terrible for. I didn't mean to yell at Chloe! But it was the only way to get her to calm down and to take a second.

Oakley barks and licks my face before hopping over Chloe's sleeping body and cuddling into her side.

"You want Mommy awake, don't you?" I ask the puppy with a smirk.

He barks happily and spins in a circle before laying back down.

I laugh.

Can I just say CHLOE AND I HAVE A FUCKING DOG TOGETHER NOW! How it is possible that we're going to be raising a puppy? It's fucking insane.

This puppy is so important to Chloe. She's know him for, what, three hours, and she's so attached.

When Chloe was holding Oakley, she looked so beautiful. She's always fucking beautiful, but in the moment, she looked so free.
