Chapter 17: Unintended Revelations

David

David rolled across the ground after falling through the hole Midoriya made and used his tendrils to ease the landing, he heard the sound of Todoroki's ice slamming against the wall he just climbed up but merely rolled his eyes and turned to the two people that were there first. Midoriya had finished wrapping a small bandage around Melissa's arm before they both noticed his presence, and it wasn't too surprising to see him act a little defensive as he stood beside her.

"Just because you're on our side doesn't mean I won't be keeping an eye on you, David. Remember that." Midoriya told him, earning him a tired sigh from the boy in question.

"No need to tell me something I already know. Just focus on the main problem and we'll be all good." David replied, not at all bothered at Midoriya's distrust in the slightest. He then brought his attention over to Melissa who had yet to say anything to him. "Oh, I don't believe we've met before. You must be that Melissa girl the other guys were talking about, right?" David asked, and much to Midoriya's reluctance she decided to answer him.

"Yes, Melissa Shield, but what I would like to know is how the rest of the people in the reception party are doing. You obviously must have been there if you worked for those villains attacking this island, so can you please tell me if they are all okay?" Melissa wondered with a noticeable look of worry.

David shrugged in response. "I don't know for sure since the last time I saw them was just before I got shot out of this tower, but judging by the hostage situation I doubt they've been seriously harmed. Me, Y/N and Ashido took down one of the villains, Nova to be precise, at that Botanical Garden, and I'm guessing Todoroki and Bakugou dealt with the other two she was sent to collect, otherwise there wouldn't have been so much ice there. Another villain went up to the top floor before things went to shit too so... that just leaves the main boss and Swordkil." David explained, making the girl look down in sadness for a moment before snapping her attention back to their current situation.

"At least that's something..." Melissa sighed.

"Wait a minute, I remember you saying it before when we were in the air but... YOU WERE SHOT OUT OF THIS TOWER?!" Midoriya exclaimed with shock. "J-just how high did you fall f-from?!"

"From over sixty-five floors to be exact, AND I FUCKING LIVED!" David laughed and motioned a tendril to the ceiling, where the top floor was almost directly above them. "So if tonight's commotion means anything to those bastards who remain, then it won't be too long until we finally put them down for good." He added with an excited grin, much to Melissa's bewilderment.

"I was not expecting him to be so... outward..." Melissa whispered.

"I guess that explains the hole in the reception party room we were supposed to go to..." Midoriya sighed at how expressive the Tendril user was in his explanation.

David, being the enthusiastic person that he was in that moment, was about to suggest that they finally get going and put an end to all this mess, taking notice of the floor number they were on in the process. Just two more floors to go and he would finally reach the two hundredth floor of I-Island's central tower, where this whole problem actually began. The possibility of getting his revenge was just within his grasp, if Wolfram was actually up there, and David did not want to waste any more time.

A mindset both Midoriya and Melissa seemed to share as well.

Until an abrupt yell made them all jolt on the spot as all three of them looked up to see Mina sliding down the wall with her acid after leaping through the large hole David just went through. "Hope you guys weren't planning on leaving without us!" Mina called down to them. Holding on to her was Y/N, which wasn't that surprising since the entrance Midoriya made with his quirk was perilously high up, though it was still an awkward position to be in. After all, it was a height that probably would've injured him if he decided to fall down himself.
