Y/N

If there was one thing that was common in every corner of Y/N's life, no matter what situation he was in... it was questions. Questions, questions, questions, it was all Y/N could think about in accordance to what had befallen him right now. The security drones, the island going into lockdown, even his recent life-changing discovery, everything today just felt so overwhelming to his mind as every single questioning thought banged against his head like a storm battering a window.

Everything just felt so... surreal...

His emotions didn't do him any favours either, though it wasn't like he expected himself to be happy about it anyway. How could he be when Y/N's E/C eyes became transfixed upon the very person he never expected to be here with him? He could hardly believe it, but whether he was to supposed feel angry, scared or worried about the matter remained to be seen.

Nevertheless, here Y/N was, staring down none other than David Veer himself as he pressed his hands and knees against the ground in an effort to keep himself up. And as she stood next to her beloved partner with a similar look of shock, Mina was quick to form a steely cold glare.

God knows how she was feeling right now, but Y/N suspected Mina felt the same way he did; confused and conflicted.

"Well... I suppose I'm not the only one to find this surprising, glad to see... that feeling is mutual amongst us both..." David coughed, yet despite his condition he still flashed them a smirk. "I'm guessing we all have our reasons for this place... now don't we?"

Y/N continued to stare at David as he stood above his injured state, not uttering a single word in response to his question. But time always had its mark on him, and before long his otherwise confused expression soon gave way to an anger that had begun to skyrocket within him. An anger Y/N hadn't felt in a while.

"Every time... this always seems to happen..." Y/N gritted his teeth and clenched his fists tightly, so much so that Mina was sure he was going to draw blood. But the boy didn't seem to care in the slightest, and she noticed the occasional red spark burst from his right arm. "No matter where we go... you always show up. The USJ, Hosu, Kiyashi Ward, you're somehow just... there. Now you decide to show up here?!"

"Every single one of those locations I have had a purpose for, this island is no different. It's not my fault we somehow cross paths when we're living our lives." David said, to which he chuckled and brought his attention over to Mina. "Although... it sure is an experience when it happens, I'll say that much."

Mina shared Y/N's look of anger and scoffed. "A purpose for what? Trying to kill us?" Mina snarled.

"I spared your life back at that shopping mall, Ashido, do not forget about that. I only strived to kill you both back at the USJ, the other times was merely due to a coincidental meet-up or if I needed something of importance. I wasn't even aware Y/N was even in Hosu at the time." David replied.

"Spared my life? If you call 'not wanting to be immediately arrested' sparing my life, then I guess being a villain knocked a few screws loose." Mina shot back, making David hum in acknowledgment.

"Perhaps... but I guess it's all in a matter of perspective." The Tendril user shrugged.

"Then why..."

David raised a confused brow at his former classmate's voice, whose quirk had now began to flare up more intensely as he spoke up. The attention was now back on Y/N, but David's eyes soon grew wide when he saw Y/N's foot race straight towards him and crash straight into his face. The impact, mixed with his position on the ground, sent him tumbling across the path, only coming to a stop after a full five seconds, and he groaned upon feeling the pain of the strike finally catch up with him and mix with his prior exhaustion.
