Melissa
Lone sat the girl in the middle of an empty, quiet hallway, twiddling at her thumbs over and over again as she took a series of glances at a nearby clock on the opposite wall. The ticking noise it made was the only thing she could hear, though the sounds of other doctors and nurses going about their business did catch her attention for a bit. Now wearing much more casual, cleaner clothing compared to the dress she wore yesterday, it felt almost relieving for Melissa to put some of yesterday's memories behind her, although for what she was here for put a dent in that mindset. Her clothing consisted of a white short-sleeved dress shirt with plaid cuffs, a large bow of the same design at her neck, a dark green waistcoat accompanied by pale grey Capri pants, under which are a pair of plaid green socks, and a pair of heeled brown boots.
Almost like the clothes she wore yesterday afternoon, but green. Melissa was never one to complicate things that were good on her already.
She rested her head on her hand whilst her right leg bounced up and down from the feeling of anxiety that had been rising within her. Melissa gazed at the clock again, longer this time like time would move much more quickly if she did, and gave out a heavy sigh. 12pm, no doubt some of the others would be wide awake. Obviously she was worried for her friends that suffered through last night's events, especially the three select individuals who seemed to fully succumb to exhaustion... But for who she was here for, in a location far from them and being awake since 9:30am, there were some matters Melissa just had to address. Bruises littered her body along with a few small plasters over her cuts, but nothing was as bad as last night.
"Maybe I should have waited until Y/N woke up before I came here, he really did look hurt after what Papa revealed last night..." Melissa quietly wondered before swiftly shaking her head in disagreement. "No, I have to do this now. I can't just sit by after what happened."
Her aqua eyes narrowed and she brought her hands over her legs, she clenched them tightly as a solemn look dawned her face. All that was in her mind was seeing him.
"Excuse me, are you Melissa Shield?" It felt like hours had passed until she could hear the voice of the doctor who could give her the all clear, but with a slight nod of her head Melissa confirmed her question. "You're confirmed for visiting Mr. Shield, if you would follow me I can show you where his room is." She told the blonde.
Melissa never said a word, only complying to the doctor's request as she walked silently with her to where she needed to go. Each approaching step felt deafening, the unnerving sensation that rushed through her body kicked into overdrive as Melissa's heart hammered against her chest from it.
Just this once... I can get through this. I need to understand. If not now, then when?
To put this all behind me and maybe patch things up... I hope.
Turning the corner, with the view of the entire island's skyline to her left that felt so normal to look at from the years spent living here, Melissa quickly took notice of two armed guards standing just outside a door. She was certain of it; her father was there.
"You should be aware that because of certain allegations against him, you will only be able to be with your father for about an hour before you have to leave. No later, however you may leave beforehand if you wish." The doctor instructed. Upon noticing Melissa's blank expression, however, she gave out a small sigh and turned to her fully. "I understand that this may be difficult, and while I would suggest that you arrange a different day for this... it will be worth getting it sorted now. Whatever problem that may be. Do you understand?"
Melissa was able to break off from her heavy thoughts and held both of her hands together to at least calm herself down. "Y-yes... I do. Thank you..." Melissa stammered out a nervous reply. "I'm ready to see him."
