Kelly's pov: it's been a couple weeks since I finally got my shit together and told tell the real reason why I being keeping mine distance from her. She was mad at me for a few but she understood but told me to never do that again. Believe me that won't happen ever again today was a shift day and within 20 minutes of the shift started we get called to a house fire when we got closer to the house my surrounding familiar but once we got in front of the house and I realize that this was the housefire it brought back a lot of memories because this is my childhood home. Once we were able to get everyone out of the house and the fire was put out and headed back to the fire station. I did my paperwork I need you to do for chief  really fast and then I went to find Stella so we can talk about it.

S= was that crazy working a call  in your childhood home
K= room  seems smaller
S= Mm-hmmm it was a good thing you knew where the kid might go
K= it was my escape route back bedroom out the window down the spout do you know April over at med. ( shakes her head yes ) she used to live up the street and she'd let me crash up at her place when ... when I didn't wanna to be home
S= this is in Benny's hey day
K= yeah and my mom well she was falling apart anyways long time ago
CB= severide this detective Corwin with narcotics he wants to get a closer look at that fridge Will you take him up there and make sure the ceiling don't come down on his head I'll  cover squad
K= then let's go
DC= yeah let's see address is ...
K= 6325 S. Campbell Avenue
DC= that's it

Me and the detective head to my old house and when we get there we open the fridge and we see lots needles needles at first we thought it was drugs related but once we heard the owners   come back and explain we  realized it was insulin for  The teenage boys diabetes . After shift I decided to go check on your family at med  but also talk to April  about something

K= hey
AS= hi I was wondering when you were gonna stop by I saw the address on that burn victims intake form
K= crazy I got the call
AS= how's house house
K= not good how's the victim
AS= coma doctors are hopeful though
K= it was so strange being in there I guess most of the time I was busy sneaking out of that place
AS= yeah Or sneaking me in ( both laugh) I will never forget two in the morning you thought you locked  the door
K= I did Benny rigged the bolt so it wouldn't latch
AS= i've never been out of a window so fast in my life
K= I remember
AS= your mom soured me after that
K= nah she was going through it then
AS=
K= you were there for me when I was at my lowest you know that
AS= that year made me realized I should do this for a living because if I could help Kelly severide I could help anybody ( laughs )
K= that's actually why I am here The woman the victim she stayed inside the fire because she was going back for her son's insulin supply, and it's my understanding that the families tapped out I mean there's programs right for situations like this I mean if you can just put me in the right direction
AS= let me talk to one of our case management workers there are all kinds of patient assistant programs for prescribed aid. And Goodwin has connections there just need to do some digging
K= you sure
AS= that's why am here and just give me till the end of shift I'll call you as soon as I know  anything
K= thanks April
AS= you got it Kelly
K= and tell your folks hello
AS= I will

I walked away and decide to stop at the victim I wanted to go in but the doctor was talking to the husband  but then the teenager boy ran out of the room so I decide to chase after him and I try to say hello but Dylan keep saying it's his fault that his mom got hurt. He didn't want to listen to me so when the elevator doors open back up he ran away from me. The next day I went on April to call me back about if she found anything for this family. It's in the shift I still haven't heard from her but all of  sudden I hear knocking on my office door

K= hey
AS= hey so on my way home I got a call from our head of research
K= yeah
AS= there's a program for insulin degludec  it's new to the market The manufacturers in phase 2 open label study and they need subjects of all ages they're aggressively enrolling  teenagers 11 to 18 all meds would be covered
K= amazing
AS= yeah there's no guarantee that there's a spot for Dylan but DR. Kaplan said to get his Application in as soon as possible and help expedite it
K= that's great above and beyond
AS= happy to help
K= I was supposed to stop by the Academy now anyways they want me to teach a class again but I will stop by med and I'll let the Dad know
AS= okay I will text you Dr. Kaplan's number
K= okay and thanks again for everything
