Chapter twenty-three

You see all the Asgardians looking at you in shock.

"What?" You ask.

"You're the guardian," Heimdall says in disbelief.

"What the hell is 'the guardian'?" You ask.

"The guardian is an extremely powerful being who is meant to protect the nine realms. There are legends that prove you to be Asgardian. But you're human. That makes no sense. How could a human be capable of destroying or restoring the nine realms?"

"Well, that wasn't offensive." You say sarcastically.

"You are capable of destroying Hela. You just need to learn to control your abilities."

"Huh? I can control my powers if that's what you're saying."

"Then why weren't you in your guardian form while fighting the zombies?"

"I- Well- Um- You got me." You reply.

Heimdall says, "We need to move, Thor is coming and we need to be ready."

You nod and everyone starts walking toward the door. You make your way to the Bifrost. You all go to the bridge and see Fenris, Hela's undead wolf.

"Oh, crap." You mumble.

"Turn back!" Heimdall shouts.

Everyone starts running backward. Everyone except you. You stand there, preparing to fight her. Suddenly the same red and yellow ship from your vision swoops down and starts shooting at Fenris. You cover your head and run toward Heimdall. The crowd stops running. You try to look over everyone's heads but see nothing. You just hear swords crashing together. Fenris starts running toward you, with bullets bouncing off her. You focus, trying to create a force field with your powers. Heimdall drops his cloak and swings the Bifrost sword around, ready to fight Fenris. Someone falls onto the bridge in the way of Fenris, looking like they're unconscious. Fenris sniffs them. She runs closer and closer until she was just feet away from you. She stops suddenly. She gets flung backward and you see the Hulk roar.

"Yes! Finally!" You shout.

You see the ship crash. You see an even larger ship slowly descend down.

"Your savior is here!" You hear Loki's voice.

The ship matches the level of the bridge and Loki walks off it. You run up to him and hug him.

"I thought I'd never see you again!" You say.

Loki wraps his arms around you and murmurs, "I'm here, Darling."

You squeeze him as hard as you can. When you release him you slap him, "Now, never ever do that to me again."

He looks down at your new look and smirks.

"You look ravishing." He compliments in surprise.

"Thank you." You reply.

You push to the front of the crowd. You focus again and cause a burst of energy, blasting most of the zombies away. Loki looks at you in awe.

"That was fantastic!" He says.

"She's the guardian," Heimdall tells him.

"I knew it! I knew you were more powerful than anyone gave you credit for!" Loki shouts.

"Yeah! Okay! But can we focus on the zombie dudes!?"

Suddenly a huge blast of lightning blasts the main balcony which Thor was on. You get practically blinded. You look over at Loki and he's smirking.

"Holy crap! That's awesome!" You yell.

Thor slams onto the bridge, electrocuting every zombie he comes across. Hulk is still fighting Fenris. Valkerie emerges from the crashed ship. You smile and imagine fighting with Led Zepplin's Immigrant Song playing in the background. You snap out of it and start fighting again. Loki swings his helmet at a zombie, killing it. Thor lands on the bridge and electrocutes every zombie he comes across. Half of Thor's cape is missing and his eye is too. You smirk. Eventually, every zombie on the bridge has either been killed or is retreating, all except one. He runs over to you and grabs your throat, holding you off the edge of the bridge. You grab its arm that's holding you over. If I'm going down, you're coming with me. You think. But your powers destroy its arm and you drag him down with you by its armor. You accept your fate, dying protecting Asgard. That's how I'm going. Dying protecting him, the love of my life. You close your eyes and think of Loki. Suddenly you're not falling into the abyss, you've been caught by Thor. He flies you back up and sets you down.

"Thanks." You say.

Thor stays silent. He walks up to Loki, "You're late." He says.

"You're missing an eye," Loki replies.

Valkerie walks past and says, "This isn't over."

The four of you walk toward Hela, battle ready.

"I think we should disban the Revengers." Thor says out of breath.

"Hit her with a lightning blast." Loki tells Thor.

"I just hit her with the biggest lightning blast in the history of lightning. It did nothing." Thor replies.

"We just need to hold her off till everyone is on board." Valkerie states.

"It won't end there." Thor says, "The longer Hela's on Asgard her powerful she grows. She'll hunt us down, we need to stop her here and now."

You look at Thor in shock.

"So what do we do?" Valkerie asks.

Loki looks him dead in the eye and says, "I'm not doing get help."

Thor says, "Asgard's not a place. It's a people." He huffs, "Loki, this was never about stopping Ragnarok, it was about causing Ragnarok. Surturs crown! The vault! It's the only way."

"Bold move brother." Loki tells him, "Even for me."

Loki runs away, without Hela noticing.

"Um, may I ask, who the hell is Surtur?" You say.

Thor just looks at you weirdly.

"Shall we?" Thor says.

"After you," Valkerie replies.

You three go at Hela, but she throws you back. You grip the side of the Bifrost, trying to hold on.

"Not again, not again." You mumble.

The large ship flies away from Asgard, just far enough they won't get hit by anything.

You fling yourself back up onto the bridge. You fly at Hela but she summons a sword and swings it at you. You dodge it, over and over, not even trying to hurt her, just distract her. All of a sudden she swings it at your side, a place you weren't expecting. You stop it with your powers.

"Not today, bitch." You smirk.

You throw it away from you and kick her down. She's taken back but she throws another sword at you, hitting you and knocking you to the ground. You feel blood running down your cheek. Hela's about to kill you when Thor shouts, "Hela! Enough!"

She turns around to him and he continues, "You want Asgard? It's yours."

"Whatever game you're playing," She walks closer to him, "It won't work. You can't defeat me."

"Oh I know," Thor states and points behind him, "But he can." And as of on cue a huge firey man emerges from the palace.

"I'm assuming that's Surtur." You mumble.

Hela yells, "No!"
