"Jaemin? Where's Jeno going? Is everything okay?" Renjun asked as Jaemin quickly left his room to put a puffer coat on. He was sat on the sofa when Jeno left the dorm in a hurry. Jaemin just shook his head. He didn't want to tell Renjun what happened, but he felt that he should at least know something is wrong.

Renjun immediately got up and headed to the kitchen, quickly coming back with a plastic tub filled with Kun's cooking. He handed the box to Jaemin.

"He probably won't eat anything, so give him some of this. It's a shame it'll be cold." Renjun said.

"Thank you." Jaemin said, taking the box and putting it in a backpack. Renjun handed him some cutlery and another serving for Jaemin, before also giving him 2 water bottles.

"I think that's all the essentials." Renjun said to himself. "Be quick, okay? Hurry and take care of him." Jaemin nodded, picking up his bike helmet. He noted that Jeno's, which was hung next to his, was missing. Jaemin made a small wave before taking his bike, Jeno's also gone, and headed out.

"Take care of him... please." Renjun sighed before sitting back on the couch. He took a sip from his drink.

"Drinking again?" Jisung said as he came to get his food. "What will Jeno say if he finds out you're drunk in the dorm again?" the younger boy sighed before sitting on the other couch, eating his meal.

"I need to drink sometimes. You'll understand if you ever feel what I feel..." Renjun said quietly, taking another sip.

"Eww, how metaphorical~" Jisung teased.

"Yah, Lee Jeno... don't do anything stupid, you hear?!" Jaemin shouted, his voice silenced by the rain. He got on his bike and quickly pedalled to his destination.

He biked through puddles, the splash landing on the end of his trousers, but he didn't care - he was already soaked and had more important issues.

The lights of late-night Seoul were muffled by the heavy rainfall, creating a hazy atmosphere. Jaemin quickly crossed one of the many bridges. The bridge more illuminated than the roads. He could clearly see the river water being disturbed by the rain.

"Jeno. You're going to catch a cold again. We'll both be scolded." Jaemin joked with himself, finding some form of comfort. Jaemin sighed as he kept peddling.

Rain stung Jeno's face as he kept cycling. Eventually, he made it to the hospital. He dumped his bike on the side, not bothering to lock it, and threw his helmet to the side of it. He had no time to care about the small things.

As he ran inside, he made his way to the information desk, slamming his hands on the table, trying to catch his breath.

"How can I help-"

"I'm Mr Lee's son. He recently got into a car crash. Please let me see him." Jeno said hurriedly, sniffing a little. He couldn't tell if he was catching a cold or crying. His face was too soaked in rain to notice any tear drops.

"Yes, ward 3 room 7." The receptionist said. Jeno quickly bowed before speed-walking to the room. He caught the states of patients and nurses, but he didn't care.

Eventually, he made it to the room. He opened the door quickly to find his father laying on the hospital bed. He was attached to an IV, and had an oxygen mask on. The left side of his head was bandaged, as well as his arm that wasn't under the blanket.

"Father..." Jeno said. He didn't exactly know why he felt so hurt. His father was cruel and someone who didn't exactly care about feelings. Or, that's what Jeno thought.

His father's eyes opened slowly, looking into Jeno's tear filled ones. He shook his head slowly, wincing at the pain a little.

"Father... please. Don't... don't go." Jeno said as he collapsed. His hand holding his as Jeno's crouched down. "It... it can't happen... again." Jeno managed to say through his tears. He felt his father squeeze his hand weakly. Jeno stood back up to look his father in the eyes.

"I was a terrible father, wasn't I?" his father chuckled a little.

"No, don't say that. Please!"

"Jeno, don't lie to yourself. I hurt you. I'm truly sorry. You shouldn't cry over me. I've hurt you too much." his father said quietly. Jeno's tears fell harder as he clung onto his father hand.

"No..." Jeno insisted, but something inside him told him his father was bad to him, and he didn't deserve the tears. But he was still family. He was someone he didn't want to lose. Not again. He can't.

"Jeno... I'm sorry." his father spoke weakly, knowing he probably would not survive. The pain in his head was getting worse. Off in the distance, quick footsteps could be heard.

"Father... please don't leave..." Jeno pleaded.

"I have no choice over that, you know? If I die, I die. I think I deserve it for being a horrible father." his father said, tears forming in his eyes at the sight of his son breaking down. The beeping on a machine changed. Jeno knew immediately what it was.

"Father! Please! Please don't go!" Jeno screamed. "Nurse! Please! Please..." Jeno cried harder.

"My son, my handsome son. I love you, so much. I'm so proud of what you've done." his father said, before closing his eyes.

"Dad..." Jeno couldn't say anymore as the beeping turned into one line. "Dad! Dad please!" Jeno wept as nurses came in. It felt like time had slowed. They let Jeno have his moment before escorting him out, hands leaving each other. Jeno looked back towards his father.

"Goodbye, Dad. I hope I keep making you proud."

Jeno left the room, tears falling down his face. He looked forward and saw him. Jaemin.

"I'm too late, aren't I?"
