Stain and Jerec locked eyes with one another as they prepared to duel against one another. A calm rage consumed Stain as he confronted his former master. He then turned to Jinx and O-Mer.
Stain: Acolytes. See that no one interferes.
Jinx and O-Mer nodded to Stain as they left his side. They soon approached Kanan and Ezra and made it clear to them that the fight between Stain and Jerec would not be interfered. Stain and Jerec paced around one another as they ignited their Lightsabers.
Jerec: It is most unfortunate that we meet again under these circumstances, my former apprentice.
Stain: Save your words, traitor. You are an abomination to the Force.
Jerec: You need not die for a delusional self righteous cause, Stendhal. The Empire could use a capable Inquisitor such as yourself.
Stain: I told you once before. Stendhal is no more. There is only Stain. I have struck down several Inquisitors already. I will strike down as many as I can until the Force has been purified.
Jerec: Then let us see how far your convictions go.
With that, Stain and Jerec began their duel as Stain unleashed a barrage of frenzied power strikes with his two crimson Lightsabers. Jerec was able to block all of his attacks. As they clashed blades, Jerec noticed all the Lightsabers hooked to Stain's belt.
Jerec: I see now why you're known as the Jedi Killer.
Stain: Those I struck down were no Jedi. Those I killed were traitors and frauds. Killing them was the will of the Force. Only through their deaths will the Force be purified. You will meet the same fate as all those traitors.
As Stain made his intentions clear, Jerec continued to duel his former apprentice. Kanan and Ezra along with Jinx and O-Mer watched as Stain and Jerec dueled against one another.
Ezra: Kanan, do you know this guy?
Kanan: If I heard it correctly, then this...Stain is Stendhal. He was Jedi Knight during the Clone Wars.
Jinx: He's become more than that. He's become a servant of the Force itself. Light and Dark mean nothing to him. All that matters is that the Force is purified.
O-Mer: A single person with a single conviction has the power to change the Galaxy. Stain is that person.
It was clear to Kanan and Ezra that Jinx and O-Mer were devoted to Stain's ideology. They simply watched as Stain dueled against Jerec. During the course of the duel, both Stain and Jerec showed no signs of fatigue.
Jerec: Impressive, my former apprentice. Your skills with the Lightsaber remain formidable as ever. But you are no master.
Stain: I will kill you, Jerec.
Jerec: I see your overconfidence has made you blind to the truth, Stendhal. Even if you were to strike me down, what would it change?
Stain: Your death will purify the Force. That is all that matters.
Stain lunged at Jerec and began attacking him with a series of flurried attacks on the High Inquisitor. Jerec maintained a strong defense as he attempts to use the precise strikes of Makashi to take down Stain with no avail. However, Jerec was able to analyze Stain's fighting style.
Jerec: So you've trained yourself in the aggressive and unpredictable form of Juyo while utilizing the two bladed fighting style of Jar'Kai. But you still have much to learn.
Stain: There is nothing you can teach me, Jerec.
Jerec: Then a lesson in humility is in order.
Stain soon pressed the attack against his former master. As the duel dragged on, Kanan was contacted by Hera via his comlink.
Hera(Comlink): Kanan, we got the intel. We're on our way to the Ghost. Be ready for pick up.
Kanan: Copy.
Back at the duel, Stain and Jerec reached a stalemate with neither able to land the killing blow.
Jerec: You have grown powerful, Stendhal. Whether you admit it or not, the Dark Side has made you stronger.
Stain soon flew into a frenzied rage as he lunged at Jerec and attacked him with such intensity that the ground itself began to crack beneath him. Jerec's defenses were slowly being chipped away. Soon enough, Stain overpowered Jerec. The High Inquisitor was at his mercy.
Stain: By the right of the Jedi, by the will of the Force, I hereby sentence you, Jerec to death for your crimes against the Force.
Before Stain could deliver the finishing blow, a squadron of Stormtroopers arrived and fired upon Stain. Stain was forced to fall back as Jerec regained his footing.
Jerec: I grow tired of this. If you wish to defy me, then you will die alongside the Rebels.
As the Stormtroopers were about to fire, the Ghost flies above the Rebels and fires on the Stormtroopers. During the confusion, the docking door opens revealing Sabine and Zeb.
Sabine: COME ON!
Zeb: YOU BETTER JUMP IF YOU WANT A RIDE OUT OF HERE!
Without hesitation, Kanan and Ezra jumped on board the Ghost. Ezra soon called out to Stain and his disciples.
Ezra: GET IN!
Stain thought of his options. Staying behind would result in death. Stain refused to be killed before his crusade could purify the Force. Stain soon turned to his acolytes.
Stain: Retreat. We will have our chance to execute this traitor.
With that, Stain along with Jinx and O-Mer jumped inside the Ghost and joined the Rebels in escaping from the High Inquisitor. But this would not be the last time Stain and Jerec would clash.
