Chapter II - Hunter & Hunted

In the hours that followed Order 66, Commander Faie and Bogey Squad soon tracked Stendhal deep in the forest surrounding Kachirho.

Faie: Remember who we're dealing with! Watch for movement in the trees! If anything moves, kill it.

Bogey Squad complied with Faie's orders as they followed his lead. Meanwhile, the wounded Stendhal along with Tarkov and Jaccoba began stalking Commander Faie and Bogey Squad from the trees.

Stendhal: (Faie.....you'll pay for your treachery.)

Stendhal began using his Jedi teachings to stalk Bogey Squad. As the hunt went on,  Faie quickly caught on to what was going on.

Faie: The Jedi is here all right. Keep your eyes open! He may be wounded or maybe even dying, but that doesn't make him any less dangerous. Comb the forest. Station some at the Wookie village. If he's going anywhere, he'll go there.

Bogey BARC Trooper: Yes sir!

Suddenly, vines wrapped around the trooper's neck and pulled him into the trees before anyone could notice. Despite the wounds from the ambush, Stendhal still found the strength and resolve to keep going.

Faie: It's quiet.....too quiet. Listen up! The Jedi's here. We'll split up into teams of three. Bogey 1212, you take Bogeys 9662 and 3856. The rest of you with me. 

Bogey 1212: Copy, sir. 

As Bogey Squad split up, they began to comb the forest in search for Stendhal. As he stalked one of the Bogey teams, Stendhal hurls his Lightsaber at Bogey 4409 and decapitates him. He then uses a vine trap devised by Tarkov to strangle and hang a trooper, but Bogey 1212 spots Stendhal and shoots the branch holding him. As Stendhal slowly recovers from the fall, Bogey 1212 contacts Faie. 

Bogey 1212: Bogey 1212 here. 9662 and 3856 are dead. I have the traitor in my sights. Executing Order 66

As Bogey 1212 was about to finish off the wounded Stendhal, Bogey 1212 is shot in the back by Jaccoba. As Jaccoba helps Stendhal to his feet, they fall back to the trees just as Faie along with Bogeys 4409 and 5632. As they inspect the area, Bogey 5632 spots movement in the trees. 

Bogey 5632: There he is! I have a visual on the Jedi! He's moving in the trees! 

Bogey 4409: Copy! Open fire!

Suddenly, a Anakkona emerged from the forest and snapped it's jaws a Bogey 5632, killing him. Bogey 4409 shoots at the Anakkona and manages to get the killing blow. As he does, Bogey 4409's blaster rifle is crushed in his hand. He is then picked up by an unseen grip and slammed repeatedly against a tree killing him. As Faie looked around the area, he inspects a pair of Wookiee traps.

Faie: Jedi! I know you're out there! I know you can hear me! I can read the signs! You're too busted up to get much further. And I saw the Wookiee footprints. 

All Faie heard was silence. He knew Stendhal was out there, but he couldn't get a read on him. 

Faie: If I'd known then that you and your Jedi buddies were gearing up to do the Separatists' work for them and overthrow the government, I'd have shot you the moment I saw you. 

Silence once more was heard. In that moment, Faie issued an ultimatum for the Jedi. 

Faie: I'm calling down an airstrike, Stendhal. Kill you, me, that nearby Wookiee village, everyone. One big crater unless you surrender yourself and die. I've got my duty and I'll see it done!

In that moment, Stendhal quickly realized that Faie was willing to raze the Kashyyyk in order to kill Stendhal. He knew that Faie would order the airstrike no matter what. Stendhal quietly moved through the trees. 

Faie: Well? What's it going to be, Stendhal? 

Using the last of his strength, Stendhal lunged from the trees with his blue and green Lightsabers. Faie's quick reflexes allowed him to spot Stendhal and fired at blaster shot into Stendhal's chest. Stendhal however was able to impale the Clone Commander with both of his Lightsabers, killing him. As Stendhal killed Faie, the wounds he sustained took it's toll on Stendhal. 

Stendhal: No.....

Stendhal's mind drifted to all the Jedi that were being slaughtered all across the Galaxy. He felt the shadow of the Dark Side looming over the Galaxy. Despite this, a desire of vengeance crept into Stendhal's mind. He used his anger to sustain himself. 

Stendhal: No.....I will not die. Not yet....not yet.....

Stendhal got up and took a moment to process what had just happened. He had survived a betrayal at the hands of his own troops and cut them down as if they were nothing more than Battle Droids. Despite the pain, Stendhal knew what he had to do.

Stendhal: No....I can't give up! I have to escape....make the Sith pay for what they've done!

In that moment, Stendhal declared his purpose. He would hunt down the Sith and destroy them. As he used the Force to heal himself, Tarkov and Jaccoba approached him. They led him through the forest and eventually reached Faie's ARC-170 starfighter. As Stendhal was about to board the starfighter, he turned to Tarkov and Jaccoba. 

Stendhal: Thank you. May the Force be with you. 

Stendhal then boarded the ARC-170 starfighter and took off. As he exited Kashyyyk's orbit, he set the coordinates to the Outer Rim world of Malachor V as it was isolated enough for him to regroup and plan his next move.
