After surviving the initial ambush of Order 66, Stendhal makes his way to the Outer Rim world of Malachor V. As his ship reached the planet, he could feel the Dark Side pulsating through the planet. Suddenly, he receives a transmission from the Jedi Temple. When he answers it, a holoprojection of Obi-Wan Kenobi appeared.

Obi-Wan(Holoprojection): This is Master Obi Wan Kenobi. I regret to report that both our Jedi Order and the Republic, have fallen with a dark shadow of the Empire rising to take their place. This message is a warning and a reminder for any surviving Jedi. Trust in The Force. Do not return to the Temple...that time has past. And our future is uncertain. We will each be challenged. Our trust. Our faith. Our friendships. But we must persevere. And in time, a new hope will emerge. May the Force be with you, always.

As the transmission ended, it became clear to Stendhal that the Jedi Order had in fact been destroyed by the Sith. He knew exactly who was responsible.

Stendhal: Palpatine.....you will pay for this....

Stendhal soon landed in the desolate world of Malachor V. He had heard stories about how Malachor V was devastated during the final days of the Mandalorian Wars. As Stendhal exited the cockpit, he began to feel the Dark Side pulsating through the planet's surface.

Stendhal: Such darkness....

Despite the strong presence of the Dark Side, Stendhal continued to explore the planet. He soon came upon the ruins of a fabled Sith Academy. He had heard stories of this Sith Academy and the powers that lingered here.

Stendhal: The Trayus Academy....

Stendhal showed no fear as he entered the Trayus Academy. It was here at the Trayus Academy where the Dark Side was at it's strongest in Malachor V. Stendhal continued to walk the grounds of the Trayus Academy despite the strong presence of the Dark Side. In his mind, Stendhal desired vengeance on Palpatine and all those who helped him in his plot to destroy the Jedi Order.

Stendhal: Palpatine.....you will pay for what you've done....

After walking the corridors of the Trayus Academy, Stendhal reached the Trayus Core which was the innermost sanctum of the academy. He then spots a Sith Holocron laying on a pedestal. Stendhal walked over to the Holocron and touched it. As he did, the ghostly form of a woman covered in tattoos appeared before him.

Stendhal: Who are you?

Spirit: I am XoXaan. I was one of the first of the Sith Lords, one of those who abandoned the Jedi Order to seek a darker path to truth.

Stendhal quickly learned that XoXaan was one of the first Dark Jedi alongside Ajunta Pall who were survivors of the Hundred Year Darkness. They were the ones who among the first Sith Lords.

XoXaan: I built this academy to train future generations of Sith. A thousand years of Sith Knowledge lay within the walls of the Trayus Academy. For thousands of years, the Trayus Academy has been silent....until now.

The spirit of XoXaan approached Stendhal. She looked into his very soul and sense a great darkness within him.

XoXaan: I have waited for someone like you...someone who has served the light and found it empty, who has found how lacking the Galaxy is. Someone who has known anger, hate...and despair. My brethren and I invented what it means to be a Sith. Are you willing to open yourself up to that truth?

Stendhal was presented with a choice. He could either refuse or pledge herself to XoXaan's teachings. He had no intention of becoming a Sith, but there were points XoXaan had made that seemed almost too accurate. Ever since Order 66, Stendhal had felt feelings of anger and hate. He felt anger at how the Jedi were seemingly destroyed and he felt hatred for the Sith responsible for this ruin. But Stendhal knew that doing this would mean going down the path of the Dark Side. He thought about his loyalties to the Jedi and how he was taught to never follow the path of the Dark Side. Stendhal was torn between his Jedi teachings and his desire for revenge against the Sith. After much thought, Stendhal finally came to his answer.

Stendhal: Yes....master. I am. I pledge myself to your teachings.

XoXaan: Good. The Force is strong with you. The Dark Side is strong with you. You will make a fine acolyte. Through my teachings and the knowledge of the Trayus Academy, you will acquire the power you so crave. The Dark Side is only a pathway to true power. You will ascend from your weaknesses and become stronger than before. To dare to dream of something that has never existed and to make it a reality; to conjure up your deepest fears and darkest hopes; to pursue a vision ruthlessly and without relent; to create the artifacts, ideology and organization of the empires of your mind: this is real black magic, the source of all true power.

In that moment, Stendhal pledged himself to the teachings of XoXaan. He would play the part of a willing Sith Acolyte with the intention of learning and acquiring the power he needed to destroy the Sith and avenge the Jedi. In that moment, Stendhal had gone down a dark path that would forever dominate his destiny. But to Stendhal, he would gladly pay that price to avenge the Jedi and destroy the Sith.
