I glossed over the bottom of the building and as Nightwing snakes his arm around my ribs I catch a glimpse of blue and red flashing lights. Cops entered back to back with their guns held high and pointing straight at the remaining henchman protecting riddler. They all wore black hats, it was impossible to see their faces.

That was his squad... Dick was down there. My throat began closing as though I were drowning. The bomb. It's endless ticking taunted me.

"No, no" I whimpered clawing at Nightwings arm. I struggled with him, his grip growing. This can't be, he's not going to let those innocent people die. Not Dick.

"Please, save them you have too!" I screeched kicking my feet and throwing myself onto the rails. It was no use, someone like him easily brought me back into his grasp.

I heard a click and swoosh from behind me and soon I felt my body fly into his as we soared out the building and onto a rooftop near by.

I scrambled out his reach and crawled to the edge of the rooftop.

"Please, there's someone in there- you" I paused feeling my hands scrap against the pavement. The bomb let out one more tick until it went silent. It seemed so sudden.

The way Nightwing pounced on me. His body covering mine. So very sudden how my inner ears rang. How the explosion felt as though it were all inside my head rather than outside. Waves of heat flashed over us instantly.

Then my ears popped. And I heard the crackling of fire from above, metal scraping against metal.

My face went numb, a burning sensation ran from my temples to my eyes. It couldn't be. Not this quickly. I couldn't feel the rest of my body but a rush of anger that flew up my head.

Oh God, Oh God, Oh God Oh God

"Oh God" Something mumbled. I mumbled. My breath found me but fastened it's pace. It couldn't be. No. Dick had to be fine, I just know it. But as the fire continued to scream around us, my thoughts went silent.

My vision became uncovered when Nightwing let me go and I could now see the beauty of the fire in which my love had become part of. It's bright red flames danced upon my face. My shaking fingers grasped onto someone.

Then my cries brought me back into reality.

"Oh God, Dick" I cried, my hands covering my mouth. Tears fell and swam across my burning hands. I rose up and down. How could it have been this easy, why this fast. It was all too soon, not Dick.

I screamed his name not feeling how quickly I rose to run up the fire. I pushed myself against the rooftop railing to search for anything, for him. I cried and could only wrap my hands around the railing for support. Ashes blew in me, sizzling themselves onto my skin.

I wanted to jump. To feel myself burn. To ignore Nightwing calling my name. It was Dick who was suppose to say that, to say Lo. Not him. Not ever. I wanted to burn with him.

"Let me go! You monster, you killed him. You killed him!" I howled as Nightwing came to push me away from the fire and into his arms. How dare he, how could he.

"Go away" I bawled letting my strength leave me. I fell limp onto him. He kept silent while dragging me further away from the explosion that let out one last deadly pop. I fell to my knees not knowing what to do or what to think besides wanting Dick back in my arms.

"Lo" His stupid face called out. I swung my arm at him and backed away wanting to be left alone. He stepped closer and closer until I could feel a railing behind me. Leave me alone, please.

"Lo", silence "Lo, listen"

"I'm right here" he murmured.

"I'm right here" He whispered once more, his hand coming to reach for my stained cheek. I flinched and pushed his hand away, slightly choking on my own cries.
