The Prophecy; Fulfilled (Part Two)

Chapter Eleven - Consequences of Love

Amy and Cream sat side by side against the wall, the milky white crystal feeling cool against their backs. Amy had shown the rabbit the crystal heart Sonic had made for her just two days prior, and Cream was fascinated by it. As the rabbit toyed with it, Amy reached up and grasped the silver heart pendant that hung from her neck. She tilted her head down as far as it could go to see it, and she cracked a small smile as she remembered how Sonic randomly surprised her with it when she came out of the dressing room, and the small argument over who would pay for her outfit at that store in the tropics. She remembered that big bag of chili dogs Sonic had gotten, how he was eating them as though he had been deprived of them for weeks. It seemed like so long ago, despite the fact that it was only the previous week or so. But her smile quickly turned into a sad one as the past few days' events raced through her mind. Now, what with all the information Cream had just told her, she wasn't sure how she was supposed to feel. In a way, she couldn't really wrap her head around any of it, but one thing was for sure - Sonic was now definitely in the wrong. It was a for sure fact in her mind now. He was crazy.

"Amy," Cream said softly after a moment. She sent a glance towards the staircase, as she had several times already, like she was scared of him. He was still up there, and hadn't made a peep for the past two hours or so. Or at least that's how long Amy had guessed it had been - there was no way for them to tell time.

"He's probably still asleep," Amy said assuringly, matching the young rabbit's soft tone. "Why are you so afraid of him?"

"I-I'm not afraid of him.. I don't know.." She looked down at the heart figurine in her hands. "Can we get of here now?"

"What?" The hedgehog wrinkled her nose. "No."

"Why?" She lifted her gaze and it landed on the doors across the room. "It's open now, right? Why can't we go while he's asleep? We can go find Tails and the others before he even wakes up."

"Because.." Amy started, but paused. "I don't want to just walk out on him. I don't know if you've noticed, but he's kind of unstable at the moment," She said, and the second she finished, she gasped, tapping the side of her fist against her palm like she had just manifested an idea. "How about we trick him instead!"

Cream blinked several times before she could actually grasp what the female hedgehog had just said. "He's unstable.. so let's trick him?" She asked with caution. "Amy, are you sure that's a good idea?"

The pink hedgehog nodded. "Yeah. I'll just go ask him to take us somewhere. But where.." She tapped her chin. "I am pretty hungry, so if I told him so, it wouldn't be a lie, right? We could ask him to take us to find food from somewhere. Then we'll knock him out somehow and run away, or take him to the others. What do you say about that?"

Cream looked to her disdainfully, uneasy about the idea. "I say that that's a crazy idea and if we're going through with it anyway like I think we are, then I'm not going to ask him."

"Cream!" Amy exasperated. "It's not like he's.. a monster or anything.." There was a brief moment of silence before Amy sighed. "It'll be okay. Okay? If you're scared, you don't have to ask him anything. I will. Alright? But why are you scared of him?"

Cream nodded, avoiding that last question, andbunconsciously made the motion of hugging something close to herself. Of course, that something indefinitely wasn't there, and when she realized that she had just hugged air, her gaze drooped sadly. Amy, upon noticing the whole thing, felt her heart break just a little. She could decipher that odd little scene: Cream had went for her pet Chao, the Chao that was always at her side, that wasn't there anymore.

"Cream.." She said softly. "Where's Cheese?"

"At home," The little rabbit mumbled with the tiniest of whines. "Mr. Indigo hurt him and Buddy."
