A/N:
Hello! This story is currently undergoing some serious editing, both in the plot and the writing in general. It is a mess and will be a mess for a while. Please overlook any mistakes you may find.
I am also bumping their ages up by two more years because of reasons. So Amy is now seventeen, Sonic is twenty (or for the plot's sake, nineteen going on twenty), Tails is 13, etc etc.
Lavender and her backstory are all going to be revamped, so watch out for that.
Thank you for reading. God bless!

"Sonic? Sonic!"
A small pink frame ran through the field, her long white dress flowing behind me. Flower petals were raining everywhere, dusting her with their soft, spring pastels. Emerald irises landed on a blue figure in the distance, sitting on the edge of the riverbank, looking down at something in the water.
"Sonic! There you are!" She exasperated. She smiled and ran toward him. He turned to her and stood, catching her up in his arms. She laughed giddly as he lifted her into the air and spun her around, and then brought her in for a hug. She leaned against him, sighing contently.
But suddenly, his grip began to grow tighter. And tighter.
"Sonic?" She inquired softly, looking up at him. Her eyes widened. His fur was turning black right before her, and his eyes were now nothing but hollow holes filled with a faint white glow.
She had seen this before. This form that sent chills down her spine and made all the tiny hairs on the back of her neck stand straight up. It was Dark Sonic.
She wriggled to break free, but his hold was too strong.
"Please, Sonic.. I don't know what's going on, and.. and y-you're hurting me.." She could just about feel her ribs caving in under the grip of his death hug. She couldn't breathe, and he wouldn't answer. Instead, his whole face stretched, morphing into almost an entirely different creature. He hissed in her face like some sort of otherworldly demon, revealing unrealistically huge, dripping fangs.
Her scream echoed off the walls so sharply that it painfully pierced her own ears. She awoke to total darkness in a sweat, only to be alarmed with the sensation that she was actually still being held.
She began to cry hysterically and squirm to no avail. After only a few seconds of that, the lights popped on, causing her heart to nearly jump out of her chest.
A large white door to her right opened, and a light purple dog peeked her head in. When they locked eyes, the dog frowned intensely and walked in, letting the door slam to a heavy shut behind her.
"What's the matter with you?" She spat, venom in her voice. "You're making a lot of noise, Pinky!"
The pink hedgehog looked down at her torso to see that she was being held to a chair by thick, tight ropes. She looked back to the dog and tried to speak, but the only sound she could conjure was a whine.
"What's wrong, huh little Amy-wamey?" The dog cooed with fake sympathy as she crouched in front of her and tightened the ropes, causing the hedgehog to wince. "You have a bad dream?"
"Wh-where am I?" Amy asked, still trembling from the effects from her nightmare. "Where's Sonic?"
"Wouldn't you like to know?" The dog laughed mockingly.
