Cream ran through the building, picking up the pace as she heard her footsteps echo from behind her. She stopped in what looked like an empty storage room and looked around. She flew up to the top of a shelf and raised the necklace Tails had given to her, then gently placed it on the top shelf. She was careful not to touch the pendant, as if it would hurt her even though she knew it wouldn't. She turned off the light and shut the door behind her, and ran back down the hall.
"Tails!" She called out of breath as she turned the corner to go back into the main room. "I hid it!"
The kitsune smiled. "Great, Cream! Thanks. Now let's see what this baby can do." He said as he pressed a button on the strange almost gun-shaped device in his hand. A faint green light started blinking on the end of it, ans the two exchanged excited smiles. Tails started walking and it led him straight to where Cream had placed the gem, the blinking glow growing stronger and brighter as they got closer.
"It works perfectly!" Tails exclaimed. He took his gem and pressed it to the tip of the device, and a click sound came from it before the green light went off. "This recognizes the individual chemical makeup of this particular gem so that it won't try to track the one we have. But with this, we'll have at least a slighter chance of finding them! Let's just hope we find them before whatever Lavender is planning begins."
Cream nodded, and they walked out together. As they made their way down the hall, the device began blinking faintly again. The two looked at it curiously. Tails started walking and it slowly got brighter, and it suddenly lit up like a Christmas tree as they came into a large room. There were several large boxes full of gems identical to Tails'. As Cream stared in confusion, Tails picked one up. "Strange," He said. "I thought there were only seven gems?"
"Me too," Cream said, a hint of worry seeping with her words.
Curiosity got the best of Tails and he attempted to use the gem the power of the gem he picked up, but as he did so, a bright light flash and he yelped, dropping to the cold, concrete floor.
"Tails!" Cream screamed as she fell beside him.
"I-I'm okay.." Tails said as he sat up, jittery, fur standing on end. "It just electrocuted me.. I don't think these are real." He said as he compared the new one with his original one that he had. "I think it's an imitation. But with the way it shocked me, these are probably just prototypes, and this is possibly the reject pile."
Cream looked around at all of them. "But why would Eggman do this.."
"It's just like him, isn't it?" Tails said, then his eyes shined with realization. "Or maybe he's planning on betraying Lavender! Either way, we need to hurry." He said as he stood and began to gather some of them.
"Why are you taking them?" Cream asked, worried.
Tails smiled at her. "Because I have a plan."

Sonic's eyes fluttered open to the sound of indiscernible chatter and laughter. He said up, moaning unknowingly, and looked around to see the group sitting in the floor in a circle, with an old human woman at the end. Sonic looked up to see Shadow standing beside him, leaning against the wall, looking at him.
"Good morning, fakes," Shadow said with his arms crossed. "Sleep well?" He asked in a flat, sightly sarcastic tone.
Sonic gave him a strange look. The last time he checked, they were walking. And now he was waking up in some strange house?
Amy glanced behind her as she heard Shadow talking, and she smiled. "Sonic!" She called as she got up and ran over, pouncing on him. When she was done smothering him with her hugs, she raised up and looked at him. "Are you feeling okay now?"
