Note: Heck with this, I'm tired of switching POV'S all the time. It's unnecessary, I'm lazy, and it's annoying me. I didn't mean to do it at first, but yeah, it just sorta happened. Soo, enjoy the rest in third person (or until I get back to Sonic's POV, I have no idea yet). There will be quite a bit of skipping in this chapter compared to my norm, just to push it along some. And I'm super nervous to post this, but I don't know why. I said I wouldn't update until probably Fall but I got a brainstorm and ugh. But anyway, thank you all for reading and I'll not keep you waiting any longer. :3

Knuckles progressively came to a stop, his heart beating out of his chest. "Where did you go?" The red echidna asked no one in particular as he peered around in the night. As if on cue, his gaze caught onto a faint glow of light in the distance, within the trees of the forest he had been approaching. He started running again, the fog of his breath beating against his face as he went. "Sonic? Sonic!" He called as he tore through the foliage. He came out into a little clearing where the blue hedgehog stood like a statue, staring at the glowing white object in the palm of his hand.

Knuckles scoffed. "Sonic? What the heck? Why did you just run off like that?" He asked. He scrunched his nose and walked closer when he didn't get an answer. "Sonic, you--" He reached for him to try and get his attention, but on contact he receieved an intense shock that sent him flying back into a tree. Leaves rained down as he stared at the blue hedgehog, taking it as an attack. "What the- Sonic!"

"What, Knucklehead?" Sonic walked over and crouched in front of him.

Knuckles gave him a look like he was crazy. "Why'd you just attack me?! Why'd you run off? You're being weird lately."

"Weird?" Sonic laughed. "You just don't understand. We were going about this all the wrong way."

Knuckles raised a brow. "We were?"

Sonic nodded. He stood again and walked a few feet away before turning back around. "We've been thinking that the gems are bad, just because they're powerful. Like power's a bad thing. What were we thinking? We can use the power for good!"

Knuckles sat up halfway and watched him paced back and forth, seemingly muttering on and on to himself. "How do you know you can even use the power? Valentine said that only a few people can."

Sonic turned to him and grinned mischeivously. He opened up his palms toward Knuckles, a chain with a dazzling white pendant wrapped around one of his thumbs. There was another chain around his other wrist, a green pendant instead. A white light began to grow, and was suddenly manifested into spears that went straight for Knuckles. A blast of green energy followed. Knuckles covered his face with his arms to protect himself, but was surprisingly untouched. Instead, the energy parted as it approached him, and the spears stuck into the big tree behind him. He watched as they shattered into a sort of glowing dust that faded before it reached the ground. When he turned back forward, Sonic was standing in front of him again. He held a hand down to the echidna. "Join me, Knux. Help me find the other gems. We can use this power for good."

Knuckles gulped softly. Sonic had lost it. He was definitely a creature to be feared now, even by him. "What about the others? Tails and Cream went to get Amy."

"I don't have time to get all of them to understand and agree. Maybe they will later on, especially if they see you agreeing."

Despite popular belief, Knuckles wasn't that gullible. He could tell something was definitely wrong. He shook his head and pushed away the hand that was offered to him. "I don't think you're right, and you're acting pretty strange. Why don't you just come back with me?"
