We're nearing the end, but have a few more important chapters to go. They're going to be longer because I have so much information and scenes to get down that are all too significant to omit. So those of you who really like the long chapters, well, you're welcome, I guess. This was originally going to be the last chapter but I had a mega brainstorm and I just can't end it this way. Now I'm writing constantly, all freaking day, driving myself crazy, neglecting my schoolwork when it just started back and I'm already failing. Yeah, I obviously got my priorities right. And that last chapter was horrible anyway, so hopefully I can make up for that. Please don't kill me. P.S. Amy's song is a lullaby I made up. Please don't steal or use. Anyway, stop reading this super long note!

"A warning, you thought?"

"It wasn't a warning?"

"Oh, it was. But not for you."

"For who, then?"

"Just.. help me.. please."

He stood in the middle of the darkness, peering around carefully. He couldn't find any trace of the source of the voice, but he knew it well by now.

"How am I supposed to help you if I can't find you?"

"I'm right here in front of you. Don't worry, I will never let you go."

"Amy, you need to eat."

The pink hedgehog turned her head away with a purse of her lips. "No, I'm fine." She mumbled and set her gaze upon the blue hedgehog's face. He lay before her with several IV's protruding from his arm and the back of his hand. His eyes were closed and his face was pale and void of any emotion as she reached out to brush his cheek with the back of her finger. "When will he wake up?"

"The doctors said he should wake up anytime." Tails answered as he walked over and put his hand on her head. "But Amy, you really need to get out of this room and go get something to eat. Waiting around and starving yourself isn't going to help him."

"But.. if I leave him, he'll die.."

Tails frowned. He knew that wasn't true. Amy had been at Sonic's bedside for the past four days, refusing to leave under any circumstances. She was still wearing the same clothes, still covered in the dried mud from where she had fallen days prior. Because of the fit she had thrown, on top of the fact that this was a foreign hospital, the staff had agreed to let her stay overnight, so long as she didn't bother anybody or anything. She had left once for about ten minutes to visit Valentine and Shadow in the room next door, but Sonic's heart had failed during the short time she was gone, and he had to be charged with an electrical shock three times with a defibrillator. That had practically killed her inside, since somehow she had decided that it had happened because she left him.

By the time they reached the helicopter, which had to land high up on the summit, Sonic had fallen into a full-blown seizure right there on Knuckles' back as he was carried. Then, scaring them all to death, his pulse died. Tails' chest compressions were what conserved the hedgehog until they were carried to some foreign hospital in the town in the marshlands. There had been no sign of Lavender or Eggman when they got back, but frankly, nobody cared. Not even Indigo, who stayed with the gang as promised.
