Thomas's screams started to blur out of Linnea's hearing. She was frozen in fear, yet it seemed like the whole world was moving. On the backs of her hands and knees, the frightened girl merely just stayed there, too afraid to do anything else. The Griever's nasty discharge flooded out on top of her, but she still didn't move. Suddenly, pulling her away from the creature, Linnea felt Thomas's hands pulling her up, his screams coming back to her senses, and finally, she turned with him as he screamed for her to run. And she did. She ran. She ran harder and faster than she had ever run in her life.
The screams of the Griever followed them as they ran, their hearts beating fast, their lungs hurting, their heads buzzing with millions of questions, possibilities, and other things that they did not need to think about just then. They only needed to think about getting out of there. The two sixteen-year-olds turned a corner, and it was as if the Griever wasn't there anymore, then suddenly, it popped in front of them, causing them to turn their position and sprint into a different area of the maze. Linnea knew these areas by heart, but suddenly, being there at night and in that situation, she forgot everything.
They pursued with their running, until instantaneously, they ran into a dead end. "Oh, shit," Linnea exclaimed, but there was no time to say anything else. The Griever kept coming at them. It was like its mission was to kill them. Its mission was to make sure that no one made it out alive. Minho. Her mind led back to Minho. Was he alive?
Knocking her out of her thoughts, Thomas grabbed Linnea, and threw her up onto one of the thick, ivy covered walls. She quickly grasped onto it, and started climbing, as Thomas quickly hoisted himself onto the ivy and climbed up after Linnea.
The Griever's mechanical arms poked at them as the two got to the top and ran along the top. The Griever followed. Coming to the point where there was a break in the tops of the walls, Thomas slowed a bit, but Linnea was not stopping. As the boy saw what she was going to do, right as she leaped up into the air, Thomas screamed her name, but nothing at this point would stop her. She landed on the next wall on her back, screamed out in pain, but that stopped when she realized Thomas was still there.
"Jump, Thomas! Jump!" She screamed for him to come with her. Just as the Griever was about to pounce on top of him, Thomas jumped, leaping out to her, rolling once he hit the stone. There was no time to celebrate, though. They needed to get back up and run. The Griever behind them easily got over it with one step, and they continued to sprint.
But, every maze has a stop. Every maze should have an end. They didn't know if this one did but most did. But there was a stop. A place where if they would have jumped, there would be nowhere to go but down. Down to their deaths. Thomas grabbed Linnea's waist before she had the chance to leap. They started back, but there stood the Griever, its deadly stature there, and it being ready to kill.
Thomas grabbed the dainty girl's hand, and squeezed it, looking into her eyes, barely being shone by the darkness but they still shined like the glowing moon. "Remember I love you," he told her. (And my little Teen Wolf heart dies. #STYDIA)
"I love you too," Linnea said back, but suddenly, Thomas turned, pulling her with him, and then and there, he jumped, hoping, praying, that they will be able to clasp on to the ivy in front of them.
Thomas made it further up, but Linnea fell down more, screaming his name. She finally, close to the bottom, grabbed onto the ivy, pulling herself in and gripping to it tightly. She was not going to die. She was not going to die. She was not going to die.
The Griever leapt out and tried to get a hold of Thomas, sticking its sharp, metal arms into the walls, but Thomas managed to get away from it. He pulled himself down to Linnea, but before either of them could do anything, the Griever was ahead of them, and grabbed Linnea with its arms, pulling her down with him. Thomas, screaming out his love's name, grabbed a hold of her leg, but it wasn't enough to keep her up with him, and the boy was pulled down with her and the Griever.
