"Hey, Linnea!" Minho caught up to the girl after she stormed out of the hut where the gathering had just taken place, steam practically flowing out of her ears, her anger towards what was happening expressing itself well. When she didn't answer her best friend, Minho yelled again, "Linnea! Fox!" She still didn't answer. "Fox!"
Finally she turned around, facing Minho straight in the eye, but was forced to look up due to his tall stature towering over her small body. "What?" she said with a harsh tone, annoyance swimming in the tongue of it.
"I know you're mad at all of this," Minho put his hands out in defense. "But hear me out here; Thomas knows things, and I think he will get us out. We are making the right decision in having him become a Runner."
Linnea rolled her eyes in irritation. "And your point is. . .?"
Minho sighed. "I'm going to show him our hut."
"What?" Linnea exclaimed. The hut held one of the deepest secrets of the maze. The hut, the special one that they had planted in the deadheads, was the place that held the key to the maze. Ever single turn, every single section mapped out perfectly, because they had already looked at everything. All of the maze had already been discovered. "You can't do that Minho! Alby's orders!"
"Well Alby won't even know!" Minho yelled back. "He might be dead for all we know. So, I'm going to show Thomas our hut and you can either come with me, or you can go swallow up any grief or whatever the shuck is wrong with you right now."
Linnea sighed and looked back, over to her own room. "I'm gonna go wallow in hell."
And with that, she turned and walked away, leaving Minho very surprised at her action, him thinking that she would easily go with him, but she didn't.

Linnea sat in her own room in her own silence. She wanted to put her anger aside, and was semi-able to, but it was still hard. Burying her face in her hands the Runner sighed, muttering words under her breath. "What do I do, what do I do, what do I do?" She had no idea what would come next for them. No idea what, or where or when the next thing was going to happen. No idea of anything at all.
Minho was right, Thomas did know something. But she did too. And it wasn't just Thomas that could possibly get them out of the maze, it was all of them. Each and every glader there would participate in getting them out of there, because each and every one of them had done something for the glade. They all helped keep the others alive somehow.
Making her head shoot up in a sharp motion, Linnea heard a panting sound coming from the entrance of the door, and saw the large body of Frypan standing there, his arm resting on the door frame. "We have a problem."
"What?" Linnea quickly got up from her sitting position, standing and facing the larger, dark-skinned boy. " Fry, You're not supposed to be here. What's going on?" She could hear shouts in the distance, mostly of panic, though. She definitely knew how to deal with that.
"The girl," Fry panted.
"What, is she awake?"
"Yeah," Fry gasped out. "It's just. . . come on. You need to see this."
He hurried out, and from a distance, he joined the layer of gladers that were huddled over towards the tower, rocks and other items being thrown off of it, a female voice yelling down at them. The girl. She was awake, and she was rebelling.
Quickly, Linnea jogged over to join them, a rock hitting her head in the process of getting there, and it bounced off of it and hit Zart.
A nerve seizes inside the Runner's chest as she realized what this could possibly mean. This girl could be the end of them, or the beginning of the way out. They could never know. None of the gladers knew if she knew anything, or if there was anything to know about her at all; but they needed to get out.
