Linnea's body was beyond tired. Her wrists now had completely given out, them not being able to get out of the hold of the rope restraints. Her vision was blurry, as if her eyes had given out as well. Sweat beads on her forehead; but she couldn't even force herself to think about anything to do with herself. It was all Thomas. It was all what was on her mind. Thomas. Was he okay? What was happening to him right then? It was all crazy, and the thought of something happening to him killed her.
Linnea's forehead creased with annoyance as she lifts her lids to see Gally walking through the doors, his signature smirk smeared across his face. There are two boys behind him, two of the strongest. One, Linnea recognized to be Joe, a boy who had once been a Runner, but abandoned with the rest when she had been stuck in the maze with Thomas and Minho. The other, was Doug, one of Gally's builders, and a clear follower of him.
As Gally walked forward, she heard him say something, but her ears apparently had also given out, and she could barely hear a thing. She realized what was happening, when the two boys behind him came up, and released Linnea's wrists from their bondage. Her bloody wrists went limp as they were let go, and she was hoisted up, being held up by the two stronger boys.
They walked her over to Gally, and she mustered some strength to try and get out of their firm grasp, as Gally put a finger to her chin, and this time she could hear his words clearly. "This is what has to be done, Linnea. You of all people know what that means to someone."
"What the hell does that mean?" She tells Gally, biting the inside of her cheek as his shoulders tense. Linnea's strength started to regain itself, and her struggling started to kick off. Gally motions with his head, tipping it out the door, for the two males to bring her out, and she kicks and struggles, but ultimately was unsuccessful.
Linnea stumbles out half-blind, following the echoes of the Gladers in front of her. As Linnea is torn away, her sight starts to recover itself, and she can see the names on the wall, every single one of them that had died crossed off, them overpowering the ones that were still alive, and not crossed off.
In the distance, from the corner of her eye, she can see five people. There, Teresa is being held, her arms behind her back, by one of the ex-Runners. Next to her, are two boys holding up an unconscious boy, whom she immediately recognizes as Thomas. Linnea's struggles just started to get even harder for Joe and Doug, as she screams for the unconscious boy, but no one did anything. Because they were afraid. They were afraid of Gally. Of what he would do to them if they really spoke up. Everyone was dead, and they didn't need another person dead.
But of course, Thomas wasn't actually unconscious. It was all just part of his master plan to get them out of there. Still, Thomas risks a look, only his eyes barely opening, but just enough to look at Linnea. Blood stained both her face and her wrists. It almost made him just completely give up the whole plan and run out of the grasp of the two gladers holding him up, and run over and save her from the two holding her weak body upright, but he couldn't will his limbs to move.
But Linnea didn't know any of this. The presence of the unconscious Thomas so close, knowing that if they got out it could lead to their victory, pounded in her anxious heart's beating. Linnea watches, and continues to struggle, now begging that they let him go, as the two gladers set Thomas down on the ground, and Gally stands above him. She was close to both of them, but was not let be any closer, her arms being held back as she moved forward and forward, but it seemed she was going nowhere.
"Yeah, I know, Linnea," Gally came back and pressed the knife against her neck, her gulping her throat back. "This is suck a waste, isn't it?"
Linnea, with the fear that she had carried in her for so long being written all over the glimmer in her eyes, looked over at Minho, who just nodded. Then Linnea knew that this was a plan. Thomas wasn't unconscious, or maybe he was, but there was some plan, and this was part of it. So she didn't stop, though, knowing that it might ruin something if she made it seem like nothing was going on.
