Linnea stumbled away from Newt, accepting through the morning haze of the glade, shakily forcing herself forward, step-by-step. What she had said, it had just come straight out of her mouth. It was not something she had thought in depth about, but was just a thought that was not contemplated about.
She looked around, though, and Thomas was no where in sight. Maybe he really did go back into the maze, just like he said he would. Maybe Minho didn't convince him well enough to not leave the safety of the glade. She remembered the night before. She could almost still feel it, but mostly, the moment when they realized they lived through it, that they would be able to see another day, the feeling of every beat coming from the opening doors, clattering her bones, the crazy thoughts that were going through her head at that moment. The thought of life. Of living. She was alive. And that was it.
Suddenly, as she looked back over to the open doors, the empty maze, empty because all of the Runners except Minho and herself had quit that morning, afraid of what happened, of how both Alby and Ben had been stung in broad daylight, and now Gally had them all wrapped around his pinky, Minho walked up to the small girl, putting his cold hand on her shoulder, which suppressed a shudder at how the cool hand felt on her pale skin. "Hey," Minho stopped her. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," The brunette replied as her eyes flickered and something in their dark pupils shifted. "What's up?"
"Okay," Minho started, pointing off into the maze, and Linnea instantly knew that this was going to lead off to something that her lover did, said, or was about to do, and honestly, to her, she loved it. "Thomas wants to go back in the maze. He thinks that now we basically have a Griever since he killed one, so I told him to wait, and so before he goes out, I want to gather some people to come out with us and look." She sighed, looking him in the eyes, but the expression shifted once again in an undefinable look. "I know that all of the other Runners quit, so I got a few people and I was wondering if you would come too?"
Linnea paused for a moment, looking back over to the walls, remembering how she got stuck in them, and it wasn't her fault. She knew Gally wouldn't approve of it, which almost made her want to do it even more, and so she did.
"Yeah," Linnea replied, flickering her eyes back at her best friend, his taller stature making her look up a significant amount. "Yeah, I'll go. We need to find out what we're up against."
Minho smirked, and the girl noticed his expression, then asked, "What?"
As they walked off towards the deadheads, Minho replied, "You and Thomas are just made for each other. He said the exact same thing about it."
"About what?"
"I think this is how we find out what we're really up against," Minho said the words, very similar to what she had just said. "That's what Thomas told me. You two are perfect for each other."
Linnea smiled a bit. Still, even though it was hard to be with him at those recent times, even though those thoughts of what the coma girl could mean to him lingered in her mind, she still couldn't help but smile at the thought of him. It was almost impossible not to.

Together, Linnea and Minho gathered up three others that were willing to help them. Fry, Winston, and Zart. All three were fed up with what was going on, and were eager to find answers. Hopefully they would satisfy them.
The five of them walked up, over to a shack in the deadheads, to where Thomas was. His expression when he saw Linnea with Minho specifically was of astonishment and wonder. Why would she help him? She was mad at him. Why?
An impact rattled in Thomas's chest as he looked into her eyes, as they glistened like the sun reflecting off of dark water. They were beautiful. She was beautiful, and he didn't want her to think otherwise.
The girl suppressed a slim smile in which he awkwardly returned, before Minho said "Will this be enough?"
Thomas couldn't take his eyes off of Linnea, and had to take a moment to breathe for a second, because in her presence, it was almost like he forgot how to. "Okay," he said. "Let's go."
Author's Note:
Short chapter because tomorrow I am going on vacation! Note: I am bringing my laptop so I will be updating a little, but don't expect too much activity. It won't be too much. I think this is the shortest chapter that I have written, but I do really like it. I love Linnea and Minho's relationship and I know I say it every time but I really do. They are so fun and I want my friendships to be like that. So they're all going back in the maze. I like this part because we get to bring in Winston, Frypan, and Zart, who haven't really been in the story that much so it is fun to bring them in! I don't really know how much I will be able to incorporate them in any other ways in this book specifically so I might add more lines for them in the next chapter or give them more parts and extend the scene. Also, I love the way Thomas looks at Linnea! Like, I was watching the movie and the part where he is waiting for Minho to show up kind of reminds me of how a boy would wait impatiently for a date when he is nervous. I want to be that girl. Can't he look at me like he looks at her? She is technically half based off of me! I'm just not as small as her. And I've cried before. A lot. This book got over three hundred views!!!! I am FREAKING dead! You guys, I love you so much! I'll probably look back at this later, maybe in a couple of months and I will be like, 'Three-hundred views? That's nothing,' but here I am freaking out about it. Thank you though. It means a lot.
