* edited! *"HONESTLY, I DON'T KNOW." SERENA SPOKE AS SHE ROLLED HER EYES AT LILY. They were talking about Daxon and his little . . . stunt at the dance. She didn't bring up the kiss with James, though. She decided it was best if no one knew about their kiss that night. Daxon and Serena weren't on the best terms as of right now, rightfully so. "I don't think I'm going to forgive me."
"I agree -- don't do it. He doesn't deserve you." Lily spoke intensely, as Serena nodded. Honestly these few weeks had been a struggle, if she was being completely honest. First, she doesn't know where she was going to spend Christmas break. Second, her kiss with James making her misunderstand her emotions towards the Gryffindor boy. And lastly, everything with Daxon. Lily narrows her eyes on Serena, concerned. "You okay?"
She nodded. "Yes, of course. Just thinking about Daxon."
Lily gave her a sympathetic look. "I understand, but he's a mean boy -- honestly, you should just not talk to him ever again."
"Yeah, I might not." Serena sighed heavily, as Lily tried to comfort her. If she was being honest, she wasn't really thinking about Daxon. She was thinking about a particular brunet Gryffindor, with a deadly smile. The thought of what happened at the dance lingered in her mind.
Their kiss couldn't have been more perfect - the music, the weather. It was truly perfect. Her heart hurt - it hurt so much, because of how bloody perfect it was. But of course, Daxon ruined it. He really ruins everything. Lily was speaking about something, and Serena was so zoned out, she didn't hear a word.
She heard Lily scoff, "Serena?"
Serena turned around, with a smile. "Y-Yes?"
"Were you listening?"
She nodded, "Of course-"
"No, it's okay. You weren't, you have a lot on your mind. Don't blame you, though." Lily sighed and grabbed her hand. "I'll leave you to your thoughts," she grabbed her bag.
Serena was about to speak before Lily shushed her, "I need to find Marls first though. I'll speak to you at dinner."
She let out a sigh as Lily got up. They needed to talk as well, and Lily was right. She couldn't focus if all she could think about James Potter and his perfect lips. As if James could hear her thoughts, he walked up to her and sat down.
He startled the girl, making her thoughts vanish. Her eyes widened as she looked at the boy she was just thinking of.
"Hey Fraser." James smiled. The way her named rolled off his tongue made her legs weak in the best way possible. That damned smile, Serena thought as she looked at his lips before quickly shaking her thoughts off. Were his lips always this perfect?
"Hey, Potter." She said quietly, "whatcha up to-"
Before she could talk, he interrupted her. Apparently, that was his many habits. "I heard you couldn't spend Christmas with your dad." He spoke as she nodded along. She forgot about that, and a frown came up on her face. Christmas break was barely a few days away and Serena had no one to spend it with. "I was wondering, ya know, since Sirus is spending it with us, maybe you could too?"
His request caught her off guard. He wanted her to spend Christmas with him? "Wait, really?" She spoke; her voice filled with suspension.
"Of course!" He beamed happily.
"No, no. I couldn't intrude."
"Well Sirus is already so, it wouldn't hurt for one more." James joked as Serena rolled her eyes playfully. Was he being serious? She would spend it with him, but that would be weird.
"You sure?" She whispered. He smiled once again as he nodded.
She wouldn't be intruding, of course. This was James's plan, if you couldn't tell. He was going to make her fall for him, because if she spends Christmas with him, Daxon couldn't ruin it if she was at his house. Daxon and his annoying face would be out of their business, and he would finally get the girl of his dreams.
--
A few days pass, and Serena has yet to make a decision yet. She could just spend the break with James, and she wouldn't have to be alone. But on the other hand, she had to spend break with James. She didn't know if she could handle being alone with James for that long.
If you told her a few months ago that she'd be spending her Christmas break with James Potter, she'd just laugh. Things were changing - her feelings for the Gryffindor were changing and she didn't know if she liked the idea of that.
Serena walked out of her dorm, books in hand. She wanted to get some studying in before break. She also needed a break from her own thoughts; they were getting a bit out of hand. As she entered the library, the warmth of the fireplace consumed her.
She took a deep breathe in, smelling the candles the librarian always had on. If there was one thing she'd miss during break, it was those nice smelling candles.
She sat at a table by herself, and opened her books. Before she could even start reading, she heard a voice from behind her. "Fraser, what's up?"
She looked up at the voice, meeting James' pretty eyes. She smiled a bit, "just studying."
"You never have to study unless you have to," James spoke. He was right - it was unlike her. But so was liking the presence of James Potter, so a lot was changing. She ignored his comment, and sighed. "Have you made your decision?"
"James-"
"Listen, I know you think that you're intruding, but truly, Serena, you're not. I want to spend Christmas with you." He paused, a blush coming onto to his face. Serena couldn't help but mirror his actions. "I don't want you to be alone during break, that would be terrible. So please, come. For me?"
Serena sighed. He was right, being alone during Christmas was depressing. But she could always spend it with Lily and Marlene, but she'd be third wheeling the entire time. Part of her willingly wanted to; not just because she'd be lonely, but the fact that she'd be with James alone made her stomach flutter.
"Fine."

Serena was packing her stuff, finally. Everyone was leaving tomorrow for Winter break, and Serena knows she won't get an eye of sleep because of her excitement. She knew she was crazy - she was excited for spending the break with her sworn enemy?
She laid down in her bed, thinking about James. All she could think of is him and his perfect hair, his perfect smile. She didn't know how she didn't notice his perfect laugh earlier. Serena hadn't fell for someone this hard in . . . well, ever.

James threw himself on Remus' bed, "Remu, she's so perfect."
Remus sighed and nodded, putting down his book. "You've told me this for the," he counted off on his fingers, "12th time." James rolled his eyes, and Remus sighed. Remus was getting tired of hearing about Serena, if he was being honest - but he had to endure it, I mean what are friends for other than hearing them rant about their crush?
"Well just had to remind you, Remus."
"13 times? Mhm," he nodded with a small nice on his face. "You excited to spend Christmas with her?"
He nodded as he moved his body so he was on his back. "Yes, yes and infinite times! So that bastard Daxon can't ruin it. We're gonna be alone-" Sirus walked in the dorm with a sigh as he sat down in Remus' desk. James remembered immediately - he wasn't going to be alone; Sirus was coming too.
"Wassup," Sirus smirked.
Shit, James thought.
