THE AIR WAS COLD AND SERENA WAS FREEZING. She was currently browsing what trees the carpenter had left outside, in the freezing cold weather. Her breathing was heavy -- she was used to the cold but she hadn't been out and about this late at night during the winter in a while; she was unprepared.

She didn't know why she had to come with the boys to find a Christmas tree -- she wasn't even the one to burn the tree in the first place! She could've been eating cookies next to the fireplace right now, but no, of course and Thing one and Thing two had to make things hard for her again.

James and Sirius walked behind Serena as they all walked, looking through the trees. Mrs. Potter wanted the best one, but there were not that many good looking trees left since Christmas was two days away.

Serena shivered, James looking to the side to eye the girl. "Are you cold?"

Serena glared at the boy, "No - no, James, I'm completely warm in this beautiful weather." James rolled his eyes at Serena's bitter tone. "Of course I'm bloody cold, it's nearly below zero!" She exhaled as Sirius walked her shout.

"Wow, someone's got their panties in a bunch." Sirius says, chuckling at his own words.

"Shut up, Sirius," they both said in union, groaning at the boy. He just shrugged in response.

James sighed and stopped, earning a sigh from Serena. "Look, sorry you had to come with us to get a tree, we know we messed up but you can't be mad! Come on, it's Christmas-"

"What do you mean I can't be mad! I can, and will be, because I control how I feel, not you, James. And it's not Christmas--"

"Actually, according to my watch, it's two minutes before twelve so it's almost Christmas Eve." Sirius says in a matter-of-fact tone.

"Whatever,"

"And Serena, we didn't drag you here, if it was up to me, I'd leave you at home. But it isn't up to me," he shrugged at Serena as she glared angrily at the boy.

"I would've happily obliged because I don't wanna be spending my night with a dumbasses who burnt a bloody tree. Who does that?! What are you, a fire wizard!?" Serena shouted at James.

"Actually-"

Before he could continue, Sirius groaned loudly. "Oh my Merlin! You guys argue so fucking much, do you ever think about me? How I feel about you guys shouting at each other while I just sit there and listen. That's the problem here, all you guys do is argue, argue, argue and you do not listen! Come on," he looked at the both and rose an eyebrow. "We all know you like each other. We know you didn't come to bed last night, Jamesie. Just shag it out and stop fighting, guys, it would be better from all of us."

The two were both speechless -- for once, neither had anything to say to Sirius. James started blushing  as Serena stood there, all the words she was about to shout dying on her tongue. Sirius sighed, walking a few steps away from the two.

"Oh! Found the perfect tree," Sirius smiled. He looked over at the two, who hadn't moved from their spot. He glared, "are you just gonna stand there and expect me to carry this all the way home alone?"

"Sorry, coming."

"Yep, coming!" They both spoke, walking towards Sirius.

Serena woke up with an excited attitude -- it was finally Christmas Eve! She was so excited to do everything; the baking, placing your gifts under the tree, the music, everything! Christmas was truly the best time.
