SERENA HAD WOKEN UP EARLIER THAN EVERYONE ELSE. For some reason, sleep wasn't the easiest thing to do, at the moment. She made some tea, and decided it was time for reading. But before she could even start the book, Sirius decided to awake.

She sat down on the couch, smiling and sighing happily as she opened her book. But she knew her moment of peace was gone when she heard creaks. She looked up to see none other than Sirius Black. Serena rolled her eyes.

"Greetings, Fraser." Sirius beamed as he sat down on the couch next to the girl.

She yawned, "Morning. Why are you up so early?"

"I could ask you the same thing." Serena put down her book, glancing at the smirking Sirius.

Sirius laughed, "I guess you could. How'd you sleep? Dream of Jamesy?"

Serena shot Sirius a stern glare as he started laughing even harder.

"Oh come on, you're not going to admit you like Potter?"

She shushed him, "Shut up, Black." His laughter soon died down as Serena sat there, annoyed and now, of course, tired. Well, tired of Sirius.

"I was only joking, Serena." Sirius looked at the girl, now realizing he may have passed a line. Or, maybe a few.

"I know, but it wasn't funny."

"Listen, it's not like it's a secret you like each other. It's kind of obvious. Actually, it's very obvious. If it makes you feel better, James literally can't go two seconds without mentioning you, your silly books and jewelry." Sirius went on and on. Serena couldn't help but blush; he talked about her not only to his family, but friends?

She rolled her eyes once she realized Sirius was watching, a smile appearing on his face too. She sighed and looked back at Sirius.

"What are you reading?" Sirius asked. Serena picked up her book to show him the cover.

"Pale fire by Vladimir Nabokov." She explains. "It's really hard to explain. It's sort of a hard read but, I'm enjoying it so far."

"That's a hard name," Sirius commented.

"What? Pale fire?"

"No, what?! I meant the author's name." Sirius laughed. Serena starting laughing too. "You really think I'm that stupid?"

"Yes!" Serena tilted her head back as she continued to laugh. As the duo laughed, James came down the stairs. He heard some ruckus down stairs to woke up to check it out. He knitted his eyebrows in confusion as he saw his best friend and potentially the love of his life, laughing in the living room at barely six thirty in the morning.

James shouldn't feel this way; one, Sirius likes Remus, and that's that. But what about Serena? Will she start liking him instead? James was obviously overthinking but he just couldn't stop. He shouldn't feel jealous, he should feel happy that her and Sirius are getting along.

"James?" Serena called out, catching James in his trance. "Why are you up this up early?"

"Because I heard booming laughter downstairs and thought there was a home invasion, of some sort." James yawned and rubbed his eyes, walking up to the two.

"Robbers don't usually make noise nor laugh when they're invading, James." Serena jokes, as Sirius laughs. James sighs and rolls his eyes; it was too early for this. Serena saw the change in James' mood; she felt bad all of sudden.

"When are we making breakfast?" Sirius spoke, getting up from the couch.

"Uh, whenever James' mom and dad wake up, I guess. It would be rude to eat without them." They all agreed and nodded. Sirius went upstairs to brush his teeth, leaving Serena and James alone.
