"Mega...mind..?" Y/n muttered with uncertainty. She gazed stunned at the blue man whose face was flushed bright pink. It was definitely him, but he seemed a little...off. He stumbled into the bar, almost knockinking over a chair before collapsing in front of Y/n with a thud.

"Ermm- uh, a drink please, fine young maiden," Megamind slurred in his evidently intoxicated state which Y/n recognized immediately; he sounded like Dave.

"Um... are you su-" Y/n started, but then she realized that he was a customer and not a friend. A taken customer at that. Jessie's head poked out from the corner of the bar.

"Is he okay? Is he bothering you?" She asked innocently.

"No, everything is fine, thank you." Y/n replied with the same kind smile, but with a look of worry present in her eyes.

"Okay..." Jessie shrugged before turning her head quickly away.

"Megamind, I can see you've had a little too much to drink. If you become a problem, I'll have to kick you out. Do you understand?" Y/n said with a quiver of worry in her voice.

"Uh huh yes ma'am," She got in response, "Can I get the Adios Motherfucker I was DEPRIVED of the other night." It started to make sense to Y/n now. He was clearly angry at someone in specific, and she had a pretty good idea of who it was by the layers of spite practically oozing out of that statement of his.

"One Adios Motherfucker coming right up," Y/n said, trying to keep her voice as steady as possible. She delivered the drink in front of him with a thud against the wooden bar.

"God! Why can't I just be good enough for once!" He complained, a little too loudly. Y/n wasn't sure she wanted to hear this, but she couldn't find a way to escape. "She's always complaining that I don't 'love her enough'. I get her whatever she wants whenever she wants. What more does a woman need!" he practically yelled. "And don't even get me started on se-"

"Okay Megamind I think you need to calm down just a bit" Y/n said with a calm smile, trying to hide her annoyance at his childish outburst.

"Oh oh yes sorry," he said, now overcompensating by whispering at a near inaudible volume, "I'm just so... so-"

"Yes that's fine I understand," Y/n cut in with a nervous smile as she heard his voice becoming louder.

He continued, "so... FRUSTRATED!" He screeched.

"Okaayy and that's enough sir, I'm going to need to kick your depressed motherfucking ass out of here," Jessie interjected before it could escalate further, "We don't tolerate disturbances or disrespect of our employees here, and that's exactly what you're doing right now." Y/n was shocked since that same girl had been nearly incapable of uttering a single 'hello' just moments earlier. "I'm sure you can settle it with your girlfriend at home. No need to take it out on my innocent coworker," Jessie said calmly.

Megamind stumbled out of the bar more even disappointed than when he walked in. "You okay, Y/n?" Jessie asked, visibly concerned.

"I was doing just fine," Y/n said with a mix of both annoyance and relief. A rainbow of emotions was blinding her. She was glad to be out of the uncomfortable conversation, but at the same time, she still couldn't help liking Megamind. She wanted to talk to him more. On top of that, she was disappointed that the blue god she thought was so majestic was just a man; a troubled one at that. But... Did that make it hotter? Y/n furrowed her brows in confusion. Jessie heard the annoyance in Y/n's voice and stepped back in embarrassment and guilt.

"Oh, I'm sorry I'm sure you could have handled that yourself," she muttered. "I just.... really don't like that guy."

"Wait, you know him? Does he come here often?" Y/n questioned.

"I'm very close with his girlfriend," She mumbled a little louder, "He's... not good to her. He isn't bad to her either though. It's hard for either of them to see, but from my point of view, it's clear: there is no love in that relationship. Well, more accurately, the love only goes one way," Jessie said, now visibly upset. "Oh wow, look at the time! I think your shift has been over for five minutes!" Y/n was eager to know more, but it was also clear to her that Jessie didn't want to be questioned further.

"Good night, Jessie."

"See you tomorrow."

Y/n collected her things and walked out of the bar with a sigh. She was exhausted and it had been a long and eventful day. All of a sudden, she felt a hand lift her chin up and her eyes shut in fear as a pair of lips smashed against hers.
