"Earlier this morning," the gorgeous reporter said with poise, "Megamind...." Y/n's mind trailed off.

"He's famous! How did I not know that?," she laughed bitterly at her foolishness, "Of course someone that sexy and perfect is famous, he could never love someone like me."

"Your Shake Your Boo-Tea, Miss," a gentle voice said from behind her. Y/n was slightly startled, but turned around and greeted the voice pleasantly anyway. "I hope you enjoy it!" the waitress said quickly, and she scampered off to deliver the next order. The Shake Your Boo-Tea was fantastic, she decided. nShe was savoring it for so long that she barely noticed that the time of her shift was approaching.

"Shoot!" Y/n said as she quickly paid her check and ran out of the store.

Once again, she hailed a bright yellow cab and watched trees zoom by the open window as she breathed in the fresh breeze and gazed at the dark indigo sky. She admired herself on her phone screen for a moment. She hadn't noticed before, but she had been subconsciously throwing on blue eyeshadow for the past couple of days.

"I'm manifesting!" she mocked in a high pitched valley girl accent reminiscent of the Bolt TV girl. She looked good, though... really good. This was the best she had ever looked and felt since James. Her big crystal eyes drifted to the place where her chin should have been, but she wasn't self conscious about it anymore. She looked beautiful that day, and she absolutely knew it. Y/n composed herself when the cab slowed at the bar entrance.

"Hell, took ya long enough to get here!" Dirk slurred, "I'm already wasted as fuck."

"But I'm 13 minutes early," Y/n said looking at her watch.

"Hey. Just ignore the boss, they're wasted as usual," said a smiling Barbara poking out her head from the bar's entrance. "Oh, you haven't met this one before because she only works weekends," Barbara chimed, "Meet Jessie!" A girl around the same height as Barbara with short black hair and striking brown eyes stepped out from behind her.

"Hi," she said in a shy voice before looking down at her feet and fidgeting with her hands.

"She'll warm up to you I'm sure," said Barbara reassuringly.  Y/n gave her a warm smile which made Jessie's eyes widened. Y/n sighed, took her place behind the bar, and waited for customers to stroll in. It took about an hour before the door opened with a jingle and Y/n gasped.
