"Where is he!?" Clarion asked nervously at the ministers who were standing around her office desk. "We- we aren't sure," Redleaf answered honestly. Yesterday morning, Lord Milori had gone missing. He simply vanished while flying his owl. Clarion was nervously pacing around her office. The ministers, along with Fairy Mary were silently watching her. "Clarion, we checked everywhere. He simply vanished," Snowflake said calmly. She was internally panicking but wanted to keep calm for Clarion. Clarion had tuned everyone out and was thinking a bunch of worse case scenarios. "Ree, calm down!" Mary exclaimed. Clarion stopped pacing and looked at her friend, "Calm down? How!? My husband is currently missing, with no clue where he is at! I don't think I need to calm down!"
Mary went silent and put her head down. The ministers all avoided eye contact. Clarion put her hands over her mouth after what she had just said. "I'm, i'm sorry, Mary. I shouldn't have said that." Mary smiled bittersweetly at the emotional wreck of a queen, "No, you're correct." "Listen, he is probably fine," Red tried to comfort. "Probably...." Clarion mumbled. Hyacinth elbowed Red and glared at him. Sunflower flew up and hugged Clarion. She stumbled back slightly and let out a slight laugh. "Sunny, I don't need a hug." "Of course you do, everyone does," Sunflower corrected still squeezing her. "Okay, I'm alright." Sunflower pulled back and smiled, "We will see you at dinner. Try and calm yourself." Clarion bittersweetly smiled, "You will se me at dinner." Mary smiled, "Most definitely not calmed down."
"Milori, got lost, I bet," Red told her. "He does that a lot," Snow added on. Clarion pretended to laugh, even though she had wanted to cry every second since he went missing yesterday. "Come on! Off with all of you!" Mary shooed them out the door. Hyacinth rolled his eyes, "You all really suck at emotions...." Before they walked out and closed the door behind them. Mary took one last glance at her friend who had tears building up in her eyes. "Clarion, it's okay to cry. Just don't lash out at me again," she teased. Clarion nodded as a few tears went down her face. Mary flew out with a bittersweet smile.
Clarion immediately sat down on her chair. She leaned over her desk, she had her hands on her head while her elbows were on the table. She began silently sobbing to herself. "He has only been missing for over 24 hours, it's not that long. Yet- he could've been hurt. Or fallen off his owl....Maybe he did get lost? Maybe he lost track of time....for a whole day?" Her mind had a million thoughts at once. Each made her cry even more. After 30 long minutes of crying to herself, tear staining her paperwork she managed to stop crying as much. She took a deep breath and stood up. She walked over to her mirror and fixed her crown, and tried to rub her tears off her face, hoping she wouldn't have that many stains. Clarion walked out of the room and went to do her daily duties.
She had finished up just in time to make it to dinner with the ministers. Along with Mary, Dewey, and Fairy Gary, and Viola. Her day checking in on fairies was far than what she wanted. Every second she turned around another fairy was gossiping about Milori having gone missing. One fairy spread a rumor he no longer wanted his job, or to be married to Clarion so he fled. That rumor everyone heard, although no one believed it. Clarion walked up to the table where the group was sitting. It was a normal rectangular table, it had 5 chairs on each side. Clarion took her spot in her usual seat. There was an empty seat next to her, where Milori always sat. Clarion kept her look as joyful as possible even though it was painful to do hardly anything without being reminded of him. She kept silent the entire dinner, until Mary asked, "Anyone hear any good drama, rumors, maybe some new relationships?"
Clarion slightly laughed to herself while playing with her food. She hadn't eaten a single bite. Everyone looked towards her. "I know you all heard the rumor of him. You don't have to pretend you haven't," Clarion informed. Everyone was still silent looking at her. "Yes, we did. We won't be discussing it with you present," Mary told her. Clarion pressed her lips together and looked back towards her plate. "Ree, you should eat," Sunflower softly said. "I'm not very hungry." "Did you have lunch?" Snowflake inquired. Clarion let out a sigh, "You don't need to check in on me. I can take care of myself." "You didn't answer her," Hyacinth responded. "I did eat lunch, I'm simply not hungry right now. I appreciate the concern, but i'm fine," Clarion lied. They all could tell she was lying, yet no one said anything not wanting to make her even worse. They changed the subject and Clarion was lost in her thoughts again.
She stood up from her chair and smiled at her friends, "I'm sorry, I'm awfully tired. I should be heading back." They all looked at her concerned. "Ree, we understand if you don't have it in you to pretend everything fine," Redleaf informed her. Clarions fake smile dropped slightly, "Thank you. Honestly, nothing's fine. I just want to sleep." The friends smiled at her, "Goodbye, Clarion." "Bye, Ree," Mary said after everyone. "Bye, Mary," Clarion lightly laughed at her.
Clarion entered her room. She changed into her nightgown and put her hair down. On her nightstand, Clarion had a photo of her and Milori. They were both standing at the border, Milori was carrying her bridal style. Mary had taken it when they were both 19, 3 Years into dating. She picked up the picture and smiled at the memory. A few tears ran down her cheek as she quickly wiped them off. She put the photo back in its original position and stared at the empty spot next to her. Clarion would fall asleep for 5 minutes, then wake up. It was obvious to her she wouldn't be getting that much sleep. Just like the previous night before. She stood up from her bed and walked over towards the balcony. She leaned onto the railing and looked out at Pixie Hollow.
It was peaceful outside, every fairy was asleep. Although, some Tinker fairies might be finishing up work they needed to finish. Clarion smiled at her kingdom as the wind blew threw her medium length hair. She remainder standing on her balcony looking up at the stars. Another tear leaked out the corner of Clarions sapphire blue eyes. One night, neither Clarion nor Milori could sleep. Clarion and him stayed up all night together. She tried teaching him the names of different stars and constellations. He was hardly paying any attention to what she was talking about. He was staring at her, like always. Clarion was smiling and thinking of all the dumb memories her and Milori had together. She was completely lost in thought when two arms wrapped around her waist, "What are we thinking about, luv?"
She knew exactly who that was. Clarion spun around as quick as possible. She met the gaze of deep brown eyes. Without saying another word she threw her arms around his neck and hugged him, "Milori! You're alright!" Milori smiled and hugged her back. "Of course I'm alright!" Clarion pulled back and kissed him. Milori smiled into it and kissed her back. She had her arms around his neck, his were pulling her in by the waist. When they pulled apart, Clarion was trying to regain her breath. "What happened?! I thought you weren't ever going to come back! I thought you were hurt!" Clarion informed him somewhat angrily. Milori put his fingers under her chin, "Luv, i'm sorry I made you worry. Long story short, I had some trouble with pirates." Clarions mouth dropped open, "Pirates!? Are you sure you're okay!?" Milori lightly chucked, "I'm fine. Besides a minor scratch on my arm." He pointed to a gash on his right arm. "That's definitely more than a scratch..." Clarion told him. "We can put a bandaid on it," Milori shrugged.
Clarion was staring at Milori making sure he was still in one piece. "Luv, i'm fine, honest." Clarion smiled and kissed him lightly again. "How are you?" Milori asked. Clarion sheepishly smiled, "A lot better than I was 15 minutes ago." She began telling him how she was a wreck and kept panicking about him not returning. Milori comforted her and said he would always come back for her. Milori walked inside and Clarion followed after him. "Where are we going?" Clarion asked. "We?" "Yes, we. I'm not letting you leave my side again." Milori laughed, "I'm going to shower." He walked into the bathroom and Clarion followed after him. "I'm sorry, I meant *we* are going to shower," Milori joked. Clarion smiled "Now you get the idea."
