"Clarion, it isn't that difficult," Milori said holding her hands trying to steady her. "Maybe not for a winter fairy." Just as Clarion had just said that Fairy Mary skated past full speed. Mary was doing all sorts of turns and tricks. Milori and Clarion were standing awestruck. "Maybe not for warm fairies either...." Milori commented. She rolled her eyes and tried to skate away from him. She almost immediately felt. Milori managed to catch her before she could. She smiled at him as he helped her up to her feet again.

Once again, Milori tried to teach her how to skate. Clarion was visibly getting annoyed with herself. "We can try later." She laughed lightly, "Am I that embarrassing?" "Of course not, love. You just won't be getting the hang of this anytime soon," he responded somewhat matter-of-factly. Clarion shot him a slight glare. She was too stubborn to give up now. She was about to attempt to skate again when Tinkerbell and her friends skated up. "Hi, Queen Clarion, Lord Milori!" they all greeted. They both smiled at the group. "We saw you....attempting to ice skate..." Tinkerbell said slowly.

"You were trying very hard," Silvermist smiled. Clarion stared blankly at the girls, slightly embarrassed at herself. Milori was finding it very entertaining, "She was, wasn't she?" "Yes....I thought I just said that?" Silvermist whispered to her friends. They all nodded to her. She wasn't the brightest fairy at times but she had the right mindset. Vidia had skated up faster than Clarion had seen any fairy ever go. "Why are we over here?" She snarled. Milori and Clarion rolled their eyes. Clarion was always used to her rude comments. Milori had only known of her for a few days, he was even used to it by now. "Her royal highness was trying to ice skate," Iridessa responded. "Queenie can't skate?!" Vidia asked in shock. She started laughing to herself.

Vidia finally calmed down from her laughing fit. "Who would have thought the queen cant ice skate?" Spike mumbled to Peri. Everyone heard it. Clarion said, "I've never been any good at it. I don't think I ever will." "Sadly," Milori added on. He was a terrific ice skater, which isn't surprising. Vidia smirked, "Maybe you just have a bad teacher." Milori laughed, "She would be easier to teach if she listened to me." The fairies laughed at his comment. Queen Clarion playfully glared at him. "Hey! I have an idea!" Everyone there looked at Tinkerbell nervously. I think it goes without saying why. "Stop looking at me like that. We can teach Queen Clarion how to ice skate!" she beamed at her brilliant idea.

Clarion smiled sweetly, "I appreciate the offer, I'm very fine though." "Clearly not," Vidia mumbled. Milori rolled his eyes. He wasn't very fond of how much she disrespected everyone. Again, he was used to it. He had to deal with Spike constantly. She was still respectful, just a bit honest at times. Tinkerbell practically ignored her, "It's no problem!" Iridessa said, "First, you have to understand the laws of how you are able to skate. It has to do with gravity." She was cut off halfway by Rosetta, "Sugar, I don't think she needs to know that." "Yeah! All you have to do is move your feet! It's like walking!" Fawn said over-excited.

They were all skating around in circles trying to show her how. Milori had an arm around her waist still holding her upright. Clarion attempted to skate a few steps away, she wobbled like crazy and had to grab Milori to steady herself. "What would you do without me?" He joked. "Probably fall," She answered laughing. The girls skated back on over to Queen Clarion. They all smiled awkwardly. They were trying to think of a nice way to tell her they gave up on helping. "Queen Clarion...We think if you keep trying you will get it eventually," Tinkerbell started. Clarion raised her eyebrow. "It's just..." "We aren't good enough ourselves to teach you!" Fawn interrupted.

The girls all nodded in agreement. Clarion smiled, "Well, thank you girls for trying to help." They all smiled and skated off. "You're just a slow learner, I am too. Don't worry," Silvermist whispered to her. Clarion smiled slightly. She knew Silvermist only meant well. She skated off in the direction of her friends. Milori turned and smiled at Clarion, "See, I'm not a horrible teacher." She shrugged, "Perhaps that's true. What does that make me? A horrible student?" He shook his head, "Not at all. As Silvermist said, you're just a slow learner." She shook her head at him. Clarion kept trying to skate on her own, Milori kept catching her before she could fall to the ground. This went on for hours.

The sun was starting to set finally. Every other fairy had already left. Clarion was too stubborn to leave not knowing how to ice skate. Finally, after many attempts, she learned how to ice skate, for the most part....She was gliding across the ice with Milori next to her. She was beaming and smiling at him. Milori was smiling like an idiot from how happy she looked with herself. Clarion started to speed up. "Ree, I think you should slow down," he called out from a little ways behind her. She simply ignored him and continued to speed up. Then she realized, she didn't know how to stop.

Milori skated faster so he was at her side. He held out his hand. Clarion said, "Dear, I can stop on my own." He looked at her puzzled, no she couldn't. He retracted his hand and allowed her to go off on her way. Clarion kept skating. She tried to stop herself but couldn't figure out how. It was much more difficult than Milori always made it look. Clarion was approaching a bank of snow quite fast. Milori grabbed her hand and slowed them both down fast so that they didn't run into the snow. Clarion spun slightly so she was facing him.

Milori joked, "You should have taken my hand sooner." She smiled slightly, "I admit it wasn't my brightest moment." He nodded in agreement. Clarion leaned up and kissed him. He smiled and kissed her back. She pulled away and smiled, "Thank you for not letting me fall." He responded, "I don't think Mary would forgive me if I did." Clarion rolled her eyes. He always had to ruin nice moments. They began to walk away from the lake. Clarion boasted, "I finally learned how to ice skate." "It only took you over a hundred years, love."
