Chapter Twenty-Seven

She added.

I am supposed to talk to them right now but why  am I ended up crying? And it seems like they haven't seen me at all.

“Now you're saying that you choose this family?” She smirked. You can't even stay at home just for a day! Tapos sasabihin mo, babawi ka nalang financially? Malamang, you should provide financially because that's your responsibility, Chester. Have you seen Aye always got disappointed everytime there's a special even that you're not around? I bet no. But I've seen it all, Chester.”

My tears are slowly falling. I didn't thought that Mom saw it.

I can hear Dad muttered a curse midair. “What should I do? I need to be at work, Harriette, alin ba doon ang hindi mo maintindihan? Tsaka h'wag mo ngang idamay si Ayezza dito! She understands me!”

“Kasi putangina, wala siyang choice!” Mom's voice echoed. “But I can read her emotions, Chester. She wished she could ask you to stay but she can't. Kasi alam niya, hindi ka niya mapipigilan.”

“Do you even see her reaction everytime I give her something she likes? When I give her her favorite book. I saw a glowing happiness in our daughter's eyes. Alam ko na may pagkukulang ako, Harriette. But maybe you're right. Pero bakit parang mali ang ginawa ko? what's wrong about it Harriette?” Dad said frustratingly.

A glowing happiness in my eyes...

Yes. I really appreciated it. I don't know if it's bad to say this but I wish for something more. I want Dad to be with me. Like, we could spend quality time with each other reading books if only he could.

“Talaga? Iyon talaga ang akala mo? Akala mo napapasaya mo si Ayezza? No Chester! Can't you see it? she wants you!

“Then I'm sorry, I don't know what to do anymore!”

“Can you just leave for a while? I need space—”

“Putangina, ano bang pinagsasabi mo?” Dad's brows creased.

“These past few days, I've been suffocated by our relationship. Hindi ‘to tama, Chester. And it's for the both of us. You can go wherever you want for awhile. I'm freeing you.”

“Harriette naman? Ayaw kong umalis!”

When I realized what Mom just had said, a tear from my escaped.

“Please, you can go to Papa's house, for a while. You can stay there. She shook her head.

Dad smirked but his eyes went reddish. “Fine.”

You can leave before Aye could even arrive.”
