I'm standing in front of an old bookshop I didn't think should exist, then again, I had been standing there for almost two hours like a weird guy, at this point I wasn't one to speak of things that should and shouldn't be in existence.
But what can a man do when every fiber in his body wants something he knows is very wrong...
It was nice talking to Brianna the other day, I couldn't stop thinking about her, so I came looking for her without a clue as to when her shift began, thus, my predicament of standing and pacing around the place.
I made last time look like a coincidence, knowing it wouldn't work for the second time, I came with the excuse that I was passing by the neighborhood and I thought to show my appreciation to her for helping a total stranger, only I got here and was told that her shift wasn't until two hours.
Two hours had passed and she still wasn't here. I went over to the comic book store opposite, walked around like I was looking for something to buy while my eyes stayed glued to the entrance of the bookshop. I was about looking away when I noticed her coming, she looked so beautiful I was completely fixated on her.
The black crop top she had on matched her long brown leather skirt and black boots, giving her a sexy aura, and her long strides made it seem like she was a model on the runway, her long beautiful hair fell loose over her shoulders to her back, and unlike her mom she was dark haired, and it complemented perfectly her light skin. She looked coquettish without even trying.
After taking my fill of her, I quickly looked away, again, behaving like the weird guy in the shop. When I was sure she had gone in and the old man had come out, I calmed myself and walked over to meet her.
"Hi."
"Oh... hi," as she smiled, her blue eyes sparkling.
I didn't think I could be into black-hairs, but she was an argument for God's existence, every feature was like her moms' but better, and every time she smiled, it got a little harder to breathe.
From afar, I didn't notice the matching earrings and bracelet she had on, now that I see them, they look like something a boyfriend would gift his girlfriend.
She wasn't single.
Why did that realization dampen my mood? was I interested in this girl after only meeting her twice?
"Excuse me, you seem lost in thought. Did you want to buy something or do I need to direct you home again?"
"What?"
She laughed, "It was a joke, Jeez. The last time you were in here you seemed like you had a sense of humor. Where'd that go?"
"I have this neighbor who basically sucks the life and humor out of people. Unfortunately, I am a recent victim."
I shouldn't talk about her mom like that, but then again, what you don't know can't hurt you, right?
"I know the feeling, trust me. I have one in my life too."
She may not have been explicit about it, but I knew she was referring to her mom. Kevin had told me they weren't in good terms plus I've actually met the woman, it was easy to decipher who she had in mind as she said the words.
"Anyway, what can I do for you Mr. ..."
"Please, call me Adrian."
"Okay Adrian. What can I do for you today."
"Actually I was passing by and I thought I should say thank you for the other day."
"That's nice, but you didn't have to. I didn't really do anything a human being wouldn't."
