Matilda's POV
I wake early the next morning to someone's voice. I slowly sit up and rub my eyes. I look around the room noticing that everyone is still asleep apart from Ava.
My eyes trail to where the voice if coming from, finally they land on Ava standing next to the window and she's on the phone?
"I'm sorry Mac but I had to.." She stops making me assume that he as interrupted her.
"Mac please... I love you, I can't loose you over something this stupid" she begs.
I instantly feel horrible. This is all my fault even though it was Justin's idea I still went through with it. I feel like a crap friend now.
I get out of my bed and walk over to the window. I gently tap Ava on her shoulder. She turns around startled. I see a few tears on on cheeks which only make me feel worse.
"Here" I say and hold my hand out for her phone, she places it in my hand and I bring it to my ear.
"Hey Mac it's Tilda. Look just let me explain. So Ava gave me a dare then as payback Justin and I thought of this dare that I basically forced her into. I'm telling the truth Ava didn't want to do what she did but I did her dare so she had to do mine. It wasn't meant to turn out like this. I never meant for any of this to happen I'm sorry" I say
"So you're telling me this is all your fault not Ava's?" Mac replies
"Yes" I huff "wait what no! I mean yes it's my fault well mine and Justin's but I'm sorry you can blame me if you want just don't blame Ava." I explain
I hear him take a deep breath before he speaks "it's okay I forgive you. And tell Ava I'm sorry and that I love her too" he says then hangs up the phone.
I turn around to see Ava sitting on the edge of Eliza's bed with her face in her hands. I walk over and sit next to her.
"What did he say?" She asks
"He said that he forgives me, that he is sorry and that he loves you" I say "I'm really sorry Ava" I say as I wrap my arm around her shoulder
"It okay" she says and hugs me
"I'm going to go for a surf want to come?" I ask but she shakes her head
"No I think I'm going to go see Mac" she replies
I get up and grab my bikini and my wetsuit. I give Ava a small smile then leave the room.
Once I've changed in Eliza's bathroom I walk out her front door, grab my surfboad and walk across the street.
I drop my board on Justin's lawn then walk to his door. I lift my fist and knock on the door a couple of times. A minute later Justin opens the door.
"I'm going for a surf want to join me?" I smile
"Just let me get changed" he says and runs back to his room.
I few minutes pass before he comes back out and grabs his board. He runs back to wear I am picking me board up from off the grass.
"Lets go" he says
Everything is so awkward after last night events. We both walk in silence.
"Why are you being so quiet? Everything okay?" Justin asks
"I'm fine, just thinking that's all" I say causally
"What about?" Wow he's nosey today
"What we made Ava do last night" I shrug lying slightly. I was thinking about our kiss last night, but I would never say that.
