"So, how was your first day?" Nicole asked as we sat down in Chemistry, thankfully the last day of the class. Tom took a seat next to me while Nicole and Stefan sat behind us.
"Ooh, guess who gave me a surprise?" I said excitedly.
"Rob from Barnes, he's playing a character in the movie" I said before she could guess.
"Argh!" Nicole groaned and slumped back in her chair. "He's so hot!" she said and I rolled my eyes, I could feel the boys stiffen in their places.
"If you're not tapping that, can I?" she asked as I opened my book.
"Uhh! Nico!" I said pushing her from her shoulder while she laughed. She loved to do that with me. Teasing me and pushing me with boys who were totally out of my league.
"Y/L/N" Carver said as he passed by me.
"Castillo" (Kaas – tee – joh) I replied still staring down at my book.
"Alright class, let's begin the lesson" Mr. Garcia said as he entered the class.
After taking the attendance, he began the class. He was explaining as to why the water tastes funny when you leave it out.
"Castillo keeps staring at you" Nicole whispered leaning closer to me. I looked to my side to see Carver staring. The minute my eyes locked with his, he winked and I rolled my eyes.
"So?" I said whispering back to Nico, but of course, I was the one to get caught.
"Miss Y/L/N, something to share to the whole class?" Mr. Garcia asked intertwining his own fingers.
"N-No, sir. I was just-"
"Alright then, in your words could you tell me why does the water taste funny when we leave it out?" he asked turning to his book.
"Erm, sure" I said and stood up. "One of the reasons is that the water absorbs a little bit of the CO2 from the atmosphere. It reacts with the water, that means H2O will react with CO2 and form H2CO3 – Carbonic acid. Which in turn breaks down into more hydrogen ions. More hydrogen ions mean more acidic and lower ph. It tastes funny because it's slightly more acidic" I said staring straight into Mr. Garcia's eyes. He thinks I wasn't paying attention. I knew I answered correctly when I saw his smirk drop.
"Very well, Miss Y/L/N. Take a seat" he said turning to the blackboard.
As I was sitting down, one of the boys from Carver's gang said, "10 points to Gryffindor!"
The whole class erupted in laughter except for me, Tom, Nico, Stefan and surprisingly, Carver. He didn't laugh. But as I mentioned earlier, he hasn't bullied me yet. I rolled my eyes and went back to studying.
I was talking to Tom as we worked on our assignment, a crumbled paper hit my head and I looked in the direction. Carver threw it. He threw another paper that landed right in my lap. I looked at him with a quirked eyebrow. He gestured me to pick the ball of paper and read it.
Date?
I crumbled up the paper back into a ball and threw it back at him without answering. Just as he was about to answer back something, the bell rang. I hurriedly closed my books, as we had to leave for the set.
I was putting my books in my locker while Tom was waiting for me in the parking. I closed my locker only to see Carver leaning against another one right next to mine.
"Entonces, no respondiste" he said in his Spanish accent. God, he sounded sexy.
(Translation – So, you didn't reply)I had taken Spanish classes and was now fluent, well, a little good in speaking it.
