I smiled as Birdie laid her head against my chest. We were taking a bubble bath together; one of her favorite things to do. "Did you have a good day?" I asked her and she looked up at me.
"What was your favorite?" I poured some water on her hair. "Ice 'ream." She smiled. I chuckled and washed her hair. After our bath, we both got out and I put a robe on myself and a towel around her. I carried her into her room and laid her on the floor so I could get her ready for bed. I put on her diaper and her yellow sleeper.
"Let's go do your medicine." I said and she pouted. "Come on big girl, you're brave and strong." I picked her up. She nodded and I took her to the living room. Baylor already had all of her medicine set up.
"Daddy, will you watch her so mommy can get dressed?" I asked and he nodded. "Of course babe." I pressed a kiss on Birdie's forehead before walking towards our bedroom. I put on one of Baylor's old college sweatshirts and a pair of black shorts, putting my hair into a messy bun before going back into the living room.
Baylor and I watched the late night news together after we put Birdie to bed. The Covid 19 cases have gone up drastically; it's really scary. Our local hospitals are filled up with patients.
"I might have to start working the Covid ward." Baylor said and I looked up at him. "Really?" I bit my lip. "Yeah, they're needing a lot more people working because of the large amount of people coming in." I sighed and I felt his arm wrap around me.
"I'm going to be safe." He replied. I looked up at him. "I know you will." He leaned in and kissed me.
