"It's getting a lot worse babe." Baylor said as I sat on the couch beside him. Birdie was finishing up breakfast while we watched the news. "A lockdown?" I asked him. He looked at me and nodded. Our state has been in a lockdown for a little while but now it's the entire world.

I chewed on my bottom lip as they showed footage of overflowing hospitals. People are dying so much that they are having to put them in trucks outside.

"This is crazy." Baylor replied and I nodded. I felt his hand grab mine and we slowly intertwined fingers. "It's going to be ok baby, we're going to be safe." He kissed my hand. I nodded and I heard Birdie run over to us.

"Good morning." I picked her up and pressed a kiss on her temple. "Mornin mama." She smiled and laid her head on my shoulder. I smiled and held her close, slowly rocking her back and forth.

"Want to go somewhere fun?" I asked Birdie. She looked up from her toys and nodded. I picked her up and grabbed her mask before putting her in the car. I turned it on before starting to drive.

I pulled in front of my parents' house and honked the horn. I let down Birdie's window as my parents walked outside, standing a few feet away from my car.

"Gigi, boppy!" Birdie screamed and held her hands out. "Hi baby!" My mom smiled and waved. "Hey mom, dad." I smiled as well.

"How are you guys doing?" Dad asked. "Pretty good, Baylor had to go into work." He nodded. "You guys are staying safe right?" "Of course dad." I turned to look at Birdie. She kept her hands out of the window and wiggled them.

"Come here." She pouted. "They can't baby." I frowned. Birdie rubbed her eyes. "Hey Birdie, look." Mom said. She looked up with tears in her eyes as she blew a kiss and wrapped her arms around herself.

"Do it back." I said and watched as Birdie tearfully blew a kiss back and hugged herself. "I love you both so much." My mom said with her lips quivering. "Love you too." I smiled sadly and Birdie started to cry.
