After walking around our neighborhood, we went back to our house and I sat on the driveway. Birdie climbed into my lap and tried to open my diaper bag to grab a snack.
"Hungry?" I laughed. She grabbed a peanut butter and strawberry granola bar. I helped open it and gave her some. She happily ate it and moved her head back and forth. I kissed the top of her head as we watched the cars go by.
After coming in, I put Birdie down for a nap and I went around and picked up her toys. My phone rang and I answered it. I smiled when I saw Baylor's face; He was wearing a T-shirt and his face had lines from his PPE.
"Hey baby." He smiled. "Hey, coming home?" I asked and he nodded. "Do you want something from Starbucks?" "Please, I want my usual." I grinned. He nodded, chuckling. I could tell that today was a rough day for him; his smile wasn't as wide as it usually was.
"Alright, I'll see you when you get home." He said. "Ok, I love you." I replied. "I love you more." He blew me a kiss before hanging up. I bit my lip and put my phone down.
"Do you hear daddy?" I asked as the bathroom door opened. Baylor took a shower after he got home. She quickly looked up, shuffled down the hall, and stood in the doorway of the bathroom.
"Hey princess." He said and she smiled widely. I smiled, watching him pick her up and give her a kiss on the forehead. He put her down before going into our room and Birdie walked back over to me. She went over to the couch to watch tv again.
I helped Baylor clean up after dinner and I gave Birdie her nighttime medicine. He helped me prepare her treatments and we sat together on the couch. "Did you tell daddy what we did today?" I asked her. She smiled at him as she babbled and nodded. He smiled, listening to her.
"It sounds like you and mama had a good day." He chuckled. She crawled over to him and laid her head on his lap and he gently rubbed her back.
