Fall had finally blown all the golden leaves off of their trees and the winds were calm once again. Halloween was around the corner and Lucius was constantly trying to scare you every time you were around him. The Gryffindor's you hanged out with seemed to drift from you, ever since Peter started to hang out with them.

"Oh y/n, you want to come outside with us?" Sirius spotted you in the hall alone.

"I guess I could use some fresh air...Lily? I thought you usually stayed with Severus around this time?"

She shrugged, "He wanted to read- Wait do you keep a tag on us or something?"

"...no," Everyone laughed it off and you followed them outside.

"Hey Lily, looks like Severus is alone. Loser." James nudged Lily and she giggled with him. "Watch this." James pulled out his wand and used the levitation charm on Severus's book. He used it well considering you just learned it.

"James give it back." Snape jumped up but couldn't get it. You stepped in front of James, your body kept on telling you to punch him. Instead you just shoved him back.

"James leave him alone! You're being a bully!" James's smile faded and he looked at you confused.

"I'm just having some fun. Severus you really are weak, a girl is protecting you." James pushed you to the side and you lost balance falling on your butt. Severus looked at you, shaking, he pulled out his wand and pointed it at James.

"THEY! Y/n isn't a girl! They are just they!" James dropped the book on Severus's head and the group walked off into the distance. Lily picked up his book and handed it to him.

"Are you ok? I'm sorry, they can be like that sometimes-" You got up and without hesitation shoved Lily.

"Really?! He literally bullied your friend and you just stood there! Also all you had to say was 'they can be like that sometimes.'" Snape pulled you back.

"No one talks to Lily like that! You know what, I don't want you near us." He pushed your shoulder and started to walk away. You stepped back and tripped on a rock, the steep hill brought you rolling down. You couldn't stop, you rolled forever until finally stopping when your head hit a rock knocking you out.

You heard ringing and someone talking? It was drowned out. "I told you she must've tripped."

"They...Lily use their pronouns."

"Like a tumble could create that much damage..."

"Remus, Lily wouldn't lie about that! You're just upset because your crush is badly injured." You started to open your eyes but closed them again as you rolled over. You didn't want to look at any of them. Sirius walked over and sat on the floor looking you in the eyes.

"What's your problem? You really can't be mad at all of us, if you didn't yell you wouldn't be in this mess..." You put the pillow over your head and mumbled.

"Just leave me alone, I don't want to see you guys!" You heard them shuffle out and the door closed. You pulled yourself up so you could sit up and you winced when your head gave off some pain.

"Ouch, looks like you've had a bad day." Lucius came from around the curtain and sat on your bed.

"Lucius I'm not in the mood-"

"The nurse said you wouldn't be able to go to the party tonight..." You hugged your pillow and a tear escaped from your eyes. Lucius seemed uncomfortable and just patted your leg, "Eh I've been told that party is boring anyways-"

"Lucius...I try to be nice and stand up for someone and it just backfires. I don't get it, am I actually a horrible person. I mean the only person who wants to be my friend is you."

Lucius scoffed, "Well that's rude. However what you just said was all wrong. They just are selfish and when you stood up to them they were caught off guard and I have no idea what I am saying anymore." You chuckled and put your pillow back behind you. Lucius looked at the clock and quickly got up. "The Great Hall is probably filled with students, I'll see you later!" You fell back on your pillow and fell asleep wishing it was winter break.

You jolted up when you heard the doors creak shut. You looked around and pulled out your wand, the room was dark so you whispered, "Lumos." You heard footsteps come closer to your bed but no one was there.

"Ouch! Remus watch where you step." You quickly put your wand away and laid back down with your eyes closed.

"Sorry James, I can't see anything."

"You know James, we could've used Lumos."

"Sirius I'm too tired to think, Remus just put the book on her bed."

"The-"

"I know, they, I forgot." You heard their footsteps slowly make their way down the corridor and out the door. You jolted up and there was a medium sized book on your bed. You turned on the lamp next to you and smiled when you saw the cover. It was a story book and seemed to be a love story in the medieval times. You read the first chapter but fell asleep right as you turned the page to the second chapter.
