(October)
"Y/n!" You had just walked out of your dorm and into your common room. A 6th year girl had waved you over. You were in just a sweater and sweats considering it was Saturday. "We've seen how you could fly, you know on a broom. Our Quidditch team needs a keeper." You finally woke up and looked at everyone around, it was the whole Quidditch team.
"Oh right, I forgot I could ride a broom." You laughed nervously and stood there very awkwardly. "Don't I have to try out?"
A beater, Wilson, a 4th year, shrugged, "Nahh, tryouts are overrated. Well are you gonna be our keeper?"
Ever since the year started and Holly "fixed" everything someone is always trying to talk to you. Usually it's just questions but sometimes someone does ask how you're feeling. You smiled and your hands relaxed in your pockets, "How could I say no, I know it's hard to get on the team."
The 6th year, Olive, clasped her hands together, "Great, let's head to the field. I'll get you some practice clothes in the locker room." You gave a confused look and quickly followed her.
"Aren't they going to come too, and I don't even have a broom yet." She looked over her shoulder and smirked.
"You're going to need a private practice, I need to know if you can block the quaffle fast enough. Our first game is against Ravenclaw, they usually get all their points from tricking a keeper. Also a broom shouldn't be a problem." She stopped and knocked on the transfiguration classroom door. Professor McGonagall opened the door and was confused.
"Ms. Dragoon? Did Druid do something or-"
"Professor, Druid has just become Hufflepuff's seeker. They need a broom."
McGonagall looked at you and sighed, "Ms. Dragoon, do you mind waiting out here while I discuss this with Druid." Olive nodded then you walked into the empty class. Quickly hopped onto the nearest table and waited.
"Y/n, get off the table and use a chair." You sat there just staring then finally sat in the chair in front of you. "I didn't know you liked Quidditch, I guess I'll order you a broom."
"Why are you mad? And don't deny it, I can hear it in your voice." She looked over her glasses and shook her head.
"I'm worried dear, Potter and Black are on the Gryffindor team. They seem to hate you, what if they try to knock you off your broom."
"Professor, last I checked they weren't Slytherin's. Look I won't have to worry about that, we go against Ravenclaw first." You took a deep breath and looked her in the eyes, "I'll be careful."
She stood up and opened the classroom door, "The broom will be here tomorrow, just use a school broom today." Olive's face lit up and she took your hand. With a blink of an eye you were running through the corridors and now in the locker room.
"Here's your practice clothes, I won't have to explain any rules, will I?" You took off your sweater and Olive stopped you from putting on the practice shirt. "Stop! Y/n, I'm sorry but, you can't play sports with bandages compressed against your chest." Olive threw a sports bra at you and your smile faded.
"Right...I forgot about that." You turned around and unwrapped the bandages replacing them with the sports bra. Then you layered on the clothes. Olive grabbed a case and threw a broom at you.
"Alright then let's get started." Once on the field she opened it and only took out the quaffle. "Head up to the goals and all you have to do is not let this quaffle pass you."
You looked up and mounted onto your broom, "Seems easy enough." The wind blew right in your face when you took off and placed yourself in front of the goals. Olive was a few feet in front of you and quickly zoomed in different directions. She started to make you dizzy but you noticed the quaffle leaving her hand. In a hurry you moved to the left goal and kicked it back to her.
"You just blocked my best move, maybe we should've started with the whole team out here." She took the quaffle back and continued to use different maneuvers, you never missed.
The sun went down and Olive decided you both should head back to the school to eat dinner. Once you got back in your normal clothes you headed into the Great Hall. The team saved seats for the two of you and couldn't wait to hear how you did. "Please tell me they at least blocked half." Kip, another chaser, wined.
"Kip, they blocked my best move! I always make a shot when I use it!" Olive was excited to be beaten. "Where's Rose? Our seeker would love to hear how our team is going to be unbeatable this year!"
"She and Jewel went to bed early." A 7th year, Jay, chipped in. He was the last chaser on the team. That meant that Jewel was the other beater.
You stood up, "I think I'm going to join them, I'm pretty tired." Olive looked confused then scooted your plate to you.
"Then take this with you, at least eat a bite." You looked back and took it as you walked away. Once out of anyone's sight you threw the whole thing away and continued down the hall.
"Skipping meals again? Didn't you promise Severus you'd try to eat at least half of every meal?" You stopped annoyed.
"Perhaps Malfoy, it's none of your concern." You continued to walk and you heard him run to you. Your sleeve was pulled, you were pulled down but he managed to catch you last second.
"Since when do you sit with the quidditch team, also you didn't even stop by the tree." You pushed his face away from you which was getting a bit close to you.
"I'm sorry I didn't have time to tell you. I'm their new keeper." You stood up and winced. Your chest sent a sharp pain.
"You alright? Did you fall off your broom?" His stern voice turned concerned. You pushed him back and put your hands in your pockets.
"No, it's nothing." You quickened your pace and walked into the bathroom and locked a stall. You heard Lucius walk in after you and he stood by your door. You threw off your sweater and unwrapped the bandages. "Lucius, close your eyes, I need to look in the mirror...shirtless." You heard him step back.
"A-alright, my eyes are closed." You quickly walked out of the stall and froze, the bandages left bruises all over your chest. "What is it y/n! Your silence doesn't sound good!" You quickly grabbed your sweater and put it on.
"I...I'm fine, just need to take a break from binding." You walked out the door and Lucius followed you yet again. "Lucius you can stop following me, I'm going to my common room."
"What is binding?" You stopped and chuckled.
"I wrap bandages around my chest to keep it flat, you're not supposed to do it all day and I've been doing it for well, non stop these past few days."
He looked confused and very worried, "Wait so what happened? Did you break a rib!" He covered his mouth in shock.
"I'm just bruised...Don't tell Severus, I'd rather him not know I was born female." Lucius slowly nodded and you ran to your common room.
