Everyone seemed to be smiling and having so much fun. You finally shook off the fact that Barty was being pushy and just who he was at first. The whispers of all the Slytherin and Hufflepuff girls grew louder. You just stared at Lucius's chest as he led the dance. "Are you alright Y/N? Don't let them get to your head." He smiled at you, weirdly it was warm and friendly. You smiled back without realizing it and you both chuckled as you finally started to try to follow along with him.

"I've never danced before, I'm sorry if I mess up." His hand wrapped around your waist as he pulled you in. His soft hand gently touched your face.

"I'm leading us, you don't have to worry." He took one step, then another. You forgot you were even in a room full of people. It just seemed like you were taken into a different world. Right as the music sped up you looked to the side and your whole body felt like it sunk as you saw Snape dancing with Lily. Lucius's voice faintly faded back.

"Y/N? What's wro- Oh, I see you're jealous. It's better that you move on from him, you need someone who notices you." That brought your attention back, move on? Lucius spun you, getting you a bit dizzy. You fell right into his arms and tried to laugh it off.

"Sorry, I was not prepared for that." He chuckled at you then kissed you without warning. Frozen, you stood there till he stopped.

"I should've asked, however your lips are very soft. May I kiss you again?" You snapped out of it and slightly smiled.

"You are a good kisser but I think just that one was fine." You put your finger over his lips and he smiled as you continued to dance around.

"You are a tease, did you learn it from that Barty guy? Wait you've always been like that, you are just so easy to fall in love with." The music stopped and you took your arms away from him.

"Lucius, I'll be right back." You quickly turned around and left the room. The hall was dark and cold, it didn't feel right. Honestly you convinced yourself that walking back to your common would be better than staying there. Your steps echoed, at times you thought someone was following you. You just quickened your pace and before you knew it, Snape appeared around the corner in front of you.

He softly grabbed your arms and his dark eyes and yours locked, "What happened? What did he do to you? It's not like you to run away from some fun. It's not like you to run from your friend?"

You put on a smile and shrugged, "I just got tired, too much dancing for one night. Severus I'm fine, go back and dance with Lily." Snape sighed and kind of chuckled, it was cute.

"Lily went off with James after she told me you went running. Now then are you gonna keep on lying to me or tell the truth?"

You rolled your eyes and smiled, "Lucius was just way too flirty, like always, and I know his pattern with 'girls'. He's looking for a pure blood to continue his bloodline. Honestly I can tell he sees me as some sort of girl, that just pissed me off."

"Too flirty? That's every guy out there- wait don't tell me you'd rather date a girl?"

You got flustered, "I wouldn't mind a girl but the person I like is a guy and your wrong not all guys are flirty-"

Snape smiled, a real smile, "I was teasing you, no need to get all flustered." You smiled but it faded, Snape is really blind. "Lucius respects that your non-binary, but the whole pure-blood stuff is probably true. Also he doesn't see you as just someone to 'breed' with, he loves you Y/n, the bracelet proved it." You looked at Severus with your head tilted, so he's not gay, you thought before bursting out laughing.

"Haha, oh my god I thought he was gay for you! I was way off." You looked up and Severus quirked an eyebrow.

"Really? I guess when you like someone you automatically think they love someone else. I know you love Lucius back, that's why I was confused when I saw you run out." You put your hands into your pockets and looked down, trying not to blurt out that it was him you loved, not Lucius. "Let's head back, I think those other girls were trying to get Lucius's attention."
