July 27th 1972

You had just finished up your summer homework early and a smile formed when you looked at the two unopened letters. You put down your quill and reached across your desk to grab them and teared open the wax seal to the first one, it was from Lucius.

Dear Y/n,

I know it has been awhile since I last wrote to you. My family has been busy with meetings and some parties. I should invite you sometime, however I'd have to sneak you over considering your parents hate mine. They believe the rumors that my family might have something to do with "you know who". Oh how's that babysitter of yours, I can't believe your parents don't trust you home alone. She'd be in her 7th year at our school next year huh? I won't tell anyone you have a babysitter since no one can make fun of you besides me. Well write back soon and I hope you don't kill anyone anytime soon. (I'm joking).

Your favorite Slytherin, Lucius

You rolled your eyes still smiling then opened the other wax seal, it was from Severus. You paused, it was for Lily, not you. You neatly folded it and tied it to your owl. "Zem, that is for Lily Evans, Severus sent me the wrong letter." He hooted angrily then flew off. You then opened your desk drawer and pulled out a new piece of parchment and dipped your quill in some ink.

Dear, Lucius,

I would love to come by Malfoy Manor at some point. I honestly don't care how you get me there, as long as I can see you again. Oh, are we planning on going to Diagon Alley together? Could you invite Severus. He sent me Lily's letter again, so I'm not too happy with him. Do you have any advice on talking to Remus? I want to write him a letter but I doubt he'd reply. Actually forget it, Sirius will send me a howler if I try to talk to him.

Hope to see you soon, Y/n

You folded it and put it in your last envelope. You looked at the different colored wax you had and went with green. You stamped it with your initials and put it to the side. You couldn't send it till Zem came back from Lily's house. Just as you got up from your desk chair there was a muffled scream that came from down stairs. You ran down stairs, trying not to slide with your socks on. Holly, your babysitter, wasn't in the living room. You took your wand out of your pocket and crept towards the kitchen. "Holly...what's wrong..." You turned the corner and she had her hand covering her mouth as she stared at an opened letter. Your family owl, Levi, was perched on the counter, he was missing a few feathers. "Y-y/n, you might want to read this," She handed you the letter then quickly walked out to the front door and waited in the doorway, "The ministry should be here soon..." You looked at her concerned then took a look at the letter.

Dear our precious y/n,

We're sorry we couldn't be home this week, however I think Holly will make sure you have fun. We have to go check out a suspicious house then we'll be home. Levi isn't with us at the moment so when he does come around this letter will be on its way to you. Oh your father would like it if you could do some chores, we left in a bit of a rush. I hope you've finished that homework so you can rest for the last month of your vacation.

The handwriting then changed and there was a giant puddle of ink in-between the two paragraphs.

Y/n is it? I'm sorry to inform you this but, your parents are gone. Their last words were, I think, "Don't touch that letter!" Weird, they didn't even say, "I'm sorry y/n" or something. Eh well I'll be nice and deliver this for them, I found your family owl, not the nicest owl I've met. I hope in a year or more I can meet you little Druid. Based on rumors, you sound like an interesting person.

Till we meet, The Powerful Dark Lord Voldemort

You felt your body freeze up, the letter fell out of your hands, floating to the floor. Your eyes darted around the room and you just slid down the wall. Your eyes started to water and your hand created a fist, hitting the side of your head. It didn't hurt, you used almost no force. Holly came running into the kitchen with what you supposed were two ministry wizards. One took the letter, read it, then handed it to the other. Holly lifted you up and forced your hand to your side till you stopped fighting her. "You just stopped doing that...Y/n these nice gentlemen will be taking you to ummm, where was it you said?"

The one with the letter looked up, "Oh yes, your godmother. You're a Hogwarts student right?" You looked at your hands and nodded. "Well then I assume you're familiar with Minerva McGonagall. Your parents have appointed her as your godmother, you'll be living with her from now on." You looked at him puzzled and looked at Holly who had the same expression as you.

"Their godmother is Professor McGonagall. That should be fun..." Holly was a Ravenclaw and she seemed scared of McGonagall for some weird reason. You looked back at the wizards then stood up.

"Alright, I'd guess you'd want me to pack my school trunk and a regular one." The other wizard chuckled then made his way up the stairs.

"I'll pack your whole room, we're wizards Druid, in case you forgot." Once he disappeared you turned to the other wizard who was putting the letter in his pocket.

"Mr. Can I have that letter, it's the last written words I have from my parents." You gave him an emotionless look.

"Can't, 'you know who' wrote half of it. Also there could be a charm of some sort on it."

Holly stepped in front of you and pointed her wand at the letter. She then murmured a spell under her breath then gave an annoyed look. "See, no charm, no nothing. Give the poor thing that letter." She crossed her arms waiting. The wizard rolled his eyes and angrily handed you the letter.

"Fine! Stupid students..." You smiled slightly then the other wizard came down the stairs.

"Alright! I have the baggage, you can apparate Druid to Minerva's house." The wizard took your arm and within a blink of the eye you were in a pretty spacious house.

McGonagall came out from a room under the stairs. She put on a smile when she saw you and walked over. "Y/n, I wish this wasn't how I got to see you again...Thank you for bringing them, you can unpack their stuff in that room." The two wizards went into the room and with a bright flash they came back out.

"Thank you again Minerva for taking in the kid on short notice. It's too bad everything turned out this way...I mean I did grow up with the Druids." The slightly nicer wizard's smile faded then he nodded before the 2 wizards apparated out of the house. McGonagall put her hand on your back and led you into the room, it was an exact replica.

"H-h-how is it the same."

"Magic my dear..." She then knelt down to hug you and you could tell she was holding back tears, "I'm so so sorry, no one deserves this..." She looked you in the eyes and smiled, "How about a nice glass of butter beer." She hurried out of the room and into the kitchen. You followed behind her and sat at the table. The house was decently plain, she just had pictures from Hogwarts. She set down a glass and sat across from you. "I assume you've finished your summer homework?"

You took a big gulp then looked at the butterbeer, "Finished it not too long ago, is Vo- you know who ever gonna be imprisoned?" McGonagall cleaned her glasses, then sighed.

"Hopefully soon, it's hard with all of these Death Eaters roaming around." You finished your glass then melted in your chair.

"I need to write to everyone...but I don't know when Zem will be back-" There was a tap on the window behind you. McGonagall opened it and let Levi in. You smiled as the owl perched on your arm you stretched out. "I guess I have two owls...maybe I can give Levi to someone." Levi nipped at your ear, not happy. "Or not..."

McGonagall chuckled then closed the window, "Well you should go write those letters, Levi should be able to deliver multiple." You then walked back to your room and closed the door.

After about 2 hours, 1 hour writing to Severus and Lucius and the other just trying to figure out what to say to Remus. "Alright I've tied Lucius and Severus letters, how does Remus's sound Levi?"

Dear Remus,

I've given up on trying to ask what I did to you. I was wondering if maybe we can start fresh this next school year. I can give you more space if it is needed... Oh and I am completely alright, Professor Mcgonagall turned out to be my godmother so I'm safe here. Please don't feel sorry for me. I'd rather just make sure your alright and I do need to know if you need more space,

Write back please, Y/n Druid.

Levi hooted indicating it was alright so you tied it to his other foot and let him go. You sighed and threw yourself onto your bed. You pulled out the letter from your parents and reread Voldemort's part, is he trying to recruit you. Does he think you killed Elliot too? Did today really happen?
