Yami:
Matthew smiled at her tenderly before writing down her order. That smile got him on Yami's hit list immediately, he didn't like the way he was so nice to Charlotte almost as if he were interested in her. But who was he to keep track of who could be and couldn't be interested in the strong-willed noble. He knew he wasn't in charge of her or anyone's life but he felt jealous of how polite they were to each other, perhaps it was just human decency between the two but it still didn't sit right with him.
'Who cares if he's interested in her, it doesn't pertain to you at all so let it go,' he thought to himself as he tried to focus his mind on things like the mission they were supposed to be on.
Right, the mission. He started to think over the details they were given, a man found dead outside a nearby forest. But which forest was what Yami had thought. He remembered seeing a few forests here and there but none of them had anything peculiar. His mind traveled back to Charlotte and the scene they had back at the mansion. The obvious thing to do was to go back towards the mansion but he didn't ever want to see Charlotte like that, she looked honestly heartbroken and it hurt him to see her like that.
"Is that all for today?" Matthew asked, intruding Yami's thoughts once again.
"Yes, that's all for today," Charlotte confirmed their orders.
"Right, your orders will be right out." Matthew left the two and headed deeper into the kitchen.
Once Matthew had left, the infamous air between the two had come back to haunt the two captains. Yami wanted to ask Charlotte about what had happened back there but he was almost certain he wouldn't get any answers out of her. He started to think back when they stood in the verdant and old garden. He remembered that there was a forest connected with the garden, he also remembered how terrified Charlotte looked when he was near it. He let out a frustrated sigh knowing he would have to ask Charlotte about it despite not wanting to.
"God damnit..," he silently cursed at the stupid situation that was present. His eyes shot to Charlotte who had her eyes closed while silently sipping on her tea, it still amazed him how her attitude had changed so quickly. A few hours ago he was clinging to him but now she was her serious self.
"..shit..," he muttered softly.
"Hey, Charlotte. What was back there?," he decided to speak up before turning his head to the green glass bottle that was in his hands.
Charlotte's eyelids opened to look at Yami, "what?," she asked him as if to repeat himself.
He could hear the panic that was rising up in her voice which Yami could interpret that she was starting to get nervous. He moved his head to look at Charlotte, meeting her sharp crystal blue eyes that gave him a serious and calm look that didn't match her tone.
"I asked what happened back at the house," Yami repeated.
Charlotte quickly turned her eyes away from him and back at the teacup, staring at the hot water.
"Nothing happened.. I was just thinking of something that wasn't important," Charlotte lied to him, her panicked tone disappearing.
"Oh yeah, sure. You always seem like you despise me but all of sudden you're crying into my chest. It wasn't just anything, Charlotte." Yami told her, seeing past her continuing lie.
