Charlotte chuckled at his fearful voice and shook her head. She looked away, reminisces of her smile lingered on her face as she continued to stroll the dirt path.

Yami watched her, his smile fell and his mouth was agape with confusion. He was absolutely dumbfounded as to what happened between them. Charlotte looked at him over her shoulder, her eyes were hardened and her eyebrows formed a straight line.

"What are you doing, lazy bum? We have a mission to do, so quit standing there," chided Charlotte, her smile replaced with a frown that signified her serious side.

Yami let out a groan at the mention of lazy bum like it set off a change in his character. He dragged his legs on the dirt path to mock Charlotte's name for him; he moved slowly on purpose and whined like a four-year old. Charlotte rolled her eyes at his behavior and continued to walk.

"You're so childish," Charlotte huffed, earning a hearty laugh from Yami.

"Good, I could teach you how to be less thorny~" Yami said with a smirk.

Charlotte's head swiveled to glare at Yami. His smirk only grew at her glare. She continued to pierce through Yami with her cold, thorny gaze before she had enough of his sly smirk and looked back at the dirt.

"As if some uncouth man like you could teach. Not only that, no one has time to spend learning how to be irresponsible and lazy." Charlotte sneered back at him.

Her cheeks lightened with red as she continued along the dirt path. Yami's smirk turned into a joyful smile at her reaction, she seemed much more like herself than before. While walking along the undisturbed mulch-like path they came upon a familiar clearing in the forest.

Yami was able to identify it before one could say devil. Despite the trees not being broken in half and the grass coated with blood Yami could tell that this was the very same clearing where they encountered the demon. Chills ran down his spine and he saw Charlotte shiver with them as well. The clearing blended in with the forest, beads of leftover morning dew dotted the grass blades that moved with the slight breeze. If it were in any other situation it would seem like a nice area to hang out and have a picnic. However it wasn't that situation for them who had seen the aftermath of two children's massacre happen in this very spot.

Yet all traces of it ever happening were gone.

"Hey, haven't we been here before?," Charlotte uttered just above a whisper.

"Yeah.." Yami concurred with her, his face having a grim but confused scowl.

He didn't know who could do this, but he was sure that they used magic. It was the only possibility, right? No way could nature do this, it was physically impossible, unless this forest had some other kind of hidden nature within it.

Charlotte walked over to a tree, she ran her fingers along the rough textured wood. They lingered on the trunk of the tree for a few seconds before she pulled her hands away and intensely stared down at the tree. Yami came up behind her to take a closer look at the tree as well.

It was perfectly fine.

No big cracks or splinters were visible on the surface that could prove his theory that the trees were just glued together. The tree was like any other tree. There was no dried up blood on the green wood, all that decorated it was furry dark-green moss with little insects running up the crevices of the wood.

Charlotte took a step back once she spotted the little insects, she quickly brushed her hand against her trousers in disgust while quietly shuddering. Yami spotted her grossed-out behavior and couldn't help but snicker at her disgusted reaction to some insects.
