Olivia Campbell
I took another swig from the shared bottle of vodka making it's way around the room. I grimaced at the harsh substance lingering on my taste buds. Tequila definitely goes down easier, but who am I to complain? Liquor is liquor. I wiped the corner of my mouth with the back of my hand to catch what I spilled.
"Oh, yeah, I forgot to ask you, Liv," Mackenzie turned her body to face me as we both sat on the floor of our hotel room. "Why did it take you so fucking long just to drop off your bags this afternoon?" I smiled to myself, taking one more sip before passing the bottle to Kayla on the bed behind me.
"I was with a guy." I said, shrugging my shoulders nonchalantly. They should both know by now that it's nothing new for me to sneak off with a random guy here and there, but their gasps echoed through the room.
"What the hell, who?" Mackenzie interrogated, smacking my arm excitedly.
"Was it prince charming from the bar this morning?" Kayla pried.
"God, no, not him," I laughed. "Not my type. It was this other guy I met after." I couldn't tell them it was Niall. They are fans of Duplicity and would freak the fuck out, telling me I have to see him again which is already off the table.
"Bitch," Kayla dragged the word out. "You gotta give us more than that." She took a long sip of the clear liquid, not holding back tonight.
"Yeah, come on, Olivia. We need details!" Mackenzie prodded. I feel like these two are constantly ganging up on me.
"Okay, fine. If you must know," I caved, leaning in like I was about to spill a juicy secret. I giggled a bit at their attentiveness all of the sudden. "He was really good with his hands." I couldn't wipe the smirk off my face, picturing it all so vividly again. I leaned back against the foot of the bed again, crossing my arms.
"Are you gonna see him again?" Mackenzie asked eagerly.
"Wait, was it Liam? You guys looked a little too cozy today to just be friends." Kayla noted her observations.
"I saw that, too! I bet they're fucking." Mackenzie agreed with Kayla. I crossed my legs out in front of me, casually taking another sip of vodka while they threw their questions at me.
"No, I'm not gonna see him again. And no, I'm not fucking Liam." I spoke too soon. My phone lit up on the floor in front of me with four texts from Liam:
hi
you should come upstairs
i need you
plsBefore I could grab my phone, Kayla read it over my shoulder from the bed, gasping in excitement.
"Okay, maybe I am fucking Liam." I threw my hands up in surrender, finally confessing and earning two identical high pitched squeals. "And on that note," I stood abruptly, grabbing my phone and heading towards the door. "I'm needed upstairs."
"I knew it!" Kayla lightly shoved Mackenzie's arm while she took a sip, spilling some. I shook my head at my crazy friends that keep me sane. Most of the time, anyways. I left our room, getting into the elevator in my bare feet and oversized tee shirt, only a black thong underneath, and rode up to the penthouse. Another text from Liam told me that his room was the second one down the hall.
When the door opened and I stepped into the suite, I paused halfway through the living room. In the kitchen, Niall sat cross-legged on the granite countertop zoned out and eating Oreo's. I sauntered over, leaning on the edge of the counter.
"Ran out of coke and vodka?" I asked, referring to his offer earlier. And by the size of his pupils I'm sure he's had plenty tonight.
"Never," he replied, still staring into space.
