Olivia Campbell
It was getting later in the afternoon, and the sun was scorching hotter than I thought possible. Even undercover in the VIP cabana, the heat was starting to get to me, beads of sweat forming on my body.
"I think it's about time for a dip," Kayla suggested, fanning her face with her hand.
"I second that," Mackenzie agreed. I could use a swim right about now, and take a short intermission from back to back shots. It's been a while since I've drank this heavily; I should probably slow down so I can make it through the weekend. At least without having to puke behind a bush.
"That sounds nice, just let me run my bags over to our room. I'm tired of carrying my shit around. I'll meet you at the water in a bit." I stood from my lounger too quickly, swaying on my feet a little. Once the room stopped spinning, I slugged my bags over my shoulder and started for the exit.
"Hey, Liv, where you off to?" Liam called me over before I made it very far. "Niall scare you off already?" He grinned cheekily at Niall.
"Not yet," I chuckled, watching Niall roll his eyes at Liam's banter. "I'm just going to drop my shit at the hotel. Came here straight from the airport and even had to change in the taxi on the way."
"Lucky cab driver..." Niall muttered to my right so only I could hear. "Got more action than I did." I refrained from letting out a laugh. Someone was still a bit salty about this morning.
"What hotel are you at?" Liam asked, taking a long puff of the cigarette between his lips.
"I think it's that one, right across the street." I gestured behind me.
"Nice, us too. You coming back?" I nodded.
"Yeah, not sure how long I'll be," I shifted the bag on my shoulder to get a better grip. "This bag is fucking heavy." Niall stood from his seat, coming into view.
"How about I take it and walk back with you and, you know, make sure you're settled and everything?"
Right on cue.
"Sure, that would be great." I said sweetly. "See you in a bit," I told Liam as Niall and I left the cabana. When we got out to the sidewalk he held his hand out to take my bag, but I shook my head.
"It's alright, it's not really heavy. I was just saying that." I brushed him off as we walked.
"Don't be ridiculous," he insisted, taking the bag off my shoulder anyways. Chivalry isn't dead.
"Thanks," I say genuinely while we cross the street. We were both silent for a few moments until we made it into the hotel lobby, waiting for the elevator.
"So, what brings you to Daytona?" Niall attempted to start a conversation, but I knew better.
"Let's be honest; I know you couldn't care less so we can skip the small talk." I know his type. I am that type. I prefer to cut the shit and get right to it. More time for what we actually want.
"I see," he chuckled to himself as we got into the elevator. "Straight up to your room, I like it."
I was about to push the button for my floor, but he stopped me and hit the penthouse instead. "If we are doing this, we gotta do it right," Niall convinced me. I nodded, in agreement.
As soon as the doors shut, we dropped the bags, addressing the tension that was thick in the air. His hands went straight to my hips, pushing me back against the mirrored elevator wall, diving for my lips. I threw my arms around his neck, running my fingers through his blonde hair massaging his head with my long nails. He didn't bother to ease into the kiss; surely I've teased him enough all day. Our lips repeatedly crashed into each other with intense urgency. He moved down to my jawline, and I tilted my head back to give him more access.
