Story Note(s):
The picture above is just some words of encouragement I believe Sev needs right now, but if you've been struggling lately, it is also there for you as well.

I realize now that a lot of you might not know pronounce Melissa's nickname, so I'll try and teach you how to say it. You pronounce it as "ee-sa". I know that makes the "i" pronunciation different compared to her full name, so it might sound weird to you, but I don't like the way it sounds if you don't change the "i" sound, so that's why I did it. I know I could've also made her nickname "Mel", but that's what I call one of my best friends, and her name isn't Melissa, it's Melanie, so I just thought it would be too weird for me. I hope you don't hate her nickname, I thought it was a cute thing for Severus to call her since she calls him "Sev".

There is going to be a part in this chapter that might make some of you uncomfortable (not smut, we're not there yet), so I will put (*****) up at the start and the end of that part when it comes so that you can skip it if you want to. It gets a bit personal, if you know what I mean, I hope that makes sense, I think you can get to based on the way the last chapter ended. It's really short, but I just wanted to make sure I didn't make anyone uncomfortable.

Here you go, this is a pretty long chapter, I hope you all like it!

Melissa's POV

"You-, you need to-" I stuttered, looking at him wide-eyed.

"Yes, I do, can you please go get Poppy?" he asked me, his face still red, avoiding eye contact with me.

"Ye-yes," I said, before turning and walking away from his section of the hospital wing. I walked into Madam Pomfrey's office, as I didn't see her tending to anyone in the hospital wing, and she turned around as she heard the door click behind me.

"He, he said he needs to use the bathroom," I told her, biting my lip, nervous about what she might say we have to do.

"Okay, let's head over to him so I can talk to you both," she said, and then we both walked back over to his section of the hospital wing. He looked up when we walked through the curtain, and I could see how uncomfortable he looked, so I grabbed his hand to try and comfort him.

"Look Severus, I know this is awkward, but I have to ask, do you know if you're able to control it?" she asked him.

"I don't know, I can't tell," he answered her quietly and then glances at me with an ashamed look on his face.

I gave his hand a squeeze and started running soothing circles over his thumb with my thumb, and then turned my head to see what Madam Pomfrey has to say.

"Okay, well, I suppose if you don't know, you should go and find out. If you aren't able to, I'll tell you what the plan is. Miss Bennett, normally I would do this, but since you're his 'assistant', I suppose you should get used to helping him. The wheelchair is right below the bed, you just need to unfold it, and then you can take him to the side bathroom attached to the hospital wing. Tell me how it goes." And after saying that, she walked out of the curtains and to her office, leaving me to figure out how to do what she said.

I first grabbed the folded-up wheelchair from under the bed and unfolded it, putting it beside his bed. Then I stood there and looked at him for a minute, before asking, "How are we going to get you into this wheelchair?"

He thought for a moment, before responding with, "Well, you can't lift me, so maybe if I leaned myself against you, you could direct me into the chair?"

I nodded my head, and with difficulty, eventually got him settled into the chair. I could tell he was trying to make it easier for me, but he struggled to do that when he couldn't move his legs. I wheeled him into the bathroom, luckily no one saw him, as all the students were asleep.
