Severus' POV

I woke up from my short sleep to a woman's agonizing scream. I immediately jumped up and grabbed my wand, rushing to the scene along with Dumbledore.

Isa's voice rang through my mind, repeating her words that I last heard her say whilst I was asleep. I hoped with all my heart that she was okay, she sounded so desperate. My pace quickened as I heard whimpers and sharp cries of pain from outside the Great Hall.

Once I entered the corridor, I panicked at the sight. There were hundreds of knives scattered all over the floor, and I quickly spotted two bodies on the floor at the edge of the corridor.

As Dumbledore and I rushed closer, and I felt tears come to my eyes at the sight. Minerva was covered with knives stuck in her body, but miraculously, she was still alive.

Dumbledore rushed to apparate her to St. Mungos, while I ran over to who I could assume was Isa. I prayed that my enchantments had worked, but my heart faltered when I heard that she wasn't making a sound.

I pulled my cloak off of her body and was relieved when she immediately jumped up and kissed me, tears flowing down her cheeks.

"I-I thought I was going to d-die. I saw the knives coming a-and," she choked out, and I quickly wiped her tears away.

"Darling, the knives didn't get you, you're okay," I told her, and she nodded, though she now looked a bit confused.

"Why didn't the knives get me?" she asked after a few minutes.

"After your house-elf attacked me with a knife, I-. Well, I got slightly paranoid, and so I charmed my cloak to repel knives. You were wearing my cloak, so when the knives came at you, they just got deflected to the side," I answered.

"Thank Merlin. I would have died if you hadn't given me your cloak Sev, thank you," she said.

"It was nothing, my love. I'm going to make sure to charm your cloaks as well, just in case this happens again. I never dreamed that they would attack you with knives," I responded, getting a bit worried that it might happen again.

She nodded and we stood up together, and it was only then that I noticed her arm was bent at a weird angle.

"Why didn't you tell me your arm was broken?!" I exclaimed, slightly upset that I hadn't noticed it before now.

"I was a bit distracted by nearly dying to care if my arm was broken or not," she said, rolling her eyes at me.

I bit back my reply, knowing that she had just had a very traumatic experience, and didn't need an argument right now.

We quickly and carefully walked to the hospital wing so Madam Pomfrey could fix her arm, keeping an eye out for the intruder. I wanted to take her to St. Mungos to check on the babies, but it was too risky to be walking across the grounds to the apparition point. For now, we would just have to trust that everything was alright.

Meanwhile...

Third Person's POV

The moment Dumbledore had apparated Minerva into St. Mungos, a group of healers rushed her into a room on the ground floor.

Dumbledore tried to follow them, but they quickly pushed him out, so he was forced to sit in the hallway outside.

He felt terrible for what had happened to Minerva. He shouldn't have ever let her walk alone with the girl he knew was being targeted.

Dumbledore ran a hand through his hair stressfully. He now had to find a professor to take her place for the time being while she recovered, which would be nearly impossible considering what had just happened to Minerva.
