Melissa's POV
Once I heard Dumbledore's answer, I started breathing heavily. Thoughts kept swirling around in my head. I heard Sev say something to Dumbledore, and Dumbledore answered, but I could barely hear it. Everything was muffled, as my thoughts took over every part of my brain.
I'm for sure going to get pregnant if we do this every week with no contraceptive charms. I'm not ready to be pregnant! Oh my Merlin, what will my mother say? What will my friends say? What will...
I felt myself getting picked up and carried to the door, and I shook my head trying to clear those thoughts, but I couldn't. They just came back over and over again.
...the teachers think? What will the rest of the school? I can't do this, I can't. Why did that stupid bond have to make this our task?! Why is a baby the only thing that will make our relationship grow and thrive? Will Sev even want the baby, if it's forced like this?
I started to sob into Sev's shoulder as he walked us back to our rooms.
Severus' POV
Dumbledore told me that Isa and I could take the rest of the morning off to figure out what this means and get used to the idea. I saw Isa starting to panic, so I quickly picked her up and started walking to our chambers.
She started crying on the way, and I picked up my pace, I didn't want any of the students to see her crying and wonder what's going on. Luckily, we passed no one on the way, and I soon entered our chambers and set us down on the couch.
I rubbed her back, and eventually, her breathing calmed down, and her sobs stopped. We just sat there for a while, just thinking, not saying anything.
After a bit of time had passed, I said, "I don't think we should tell anyone about our bond. I don't want people getting too involved in our relationship, and if it's known that we have a soulmate bond, people are going to be swarming us with questions, because it's so uncommon."
She looked at me for a moment, thinking, before answering with, "Okay, I respect that, and I don't want people swarming us all the time either. This is our life, not theirs. But Sev, can I at least tell my mother? I really need to talk to someone about this, and I know that I have you, but I just want to talk to an outsider about this, do you get that? I know she won't tell anyone."
"Oh darling, of course you can. I trust your mother, and I get that you need to talk to someone besides me. Why don't you write a letter to her and ask to come over tomorrow evening, and I'll go check with Dumbledore?" I say. She smiles a small smile at me and then kisses me on the cheek before walking to my desk.
As I walked to the door, I stopped, turned around, and said, "I know we didn't get to talk much about all of this, but I promise we will after classes today. Alright?"
She turned around in her seat and answered with "Sounds good, Sev." I smiled before turning around and heading to Dumbledore's office.
Melissas' POV
After Sev left, I quickly wrote my mother a letter and then scrambled to get ready for classes. I had to take this letter to the owlery before class, so I needed to hurry.
Once I finally got ready and delivered the letter, I made it just in time for charms. The moment I walked in, I heard the whispers about me start. I ignored them though, I expected as much when I kissed Sev in front of the entire school. Besides, I had bigger things going on in my life right now than some students making fun of me.
People kept whispering about me throughout the day, but as I said, they were just whispers. Eventually, I was back in Sev's chambers finishing my homework, when he finally walked in. I put my homework away and went to sit on the couch with him.
