CARSON SWAN WAS THE YOUNGEST in the group of superheroes known as The Avengers. He was gifted with the powers of healing, enhanced hearing, telekinesis and energy manipulation. At the age of eight, Carson discovered his powers after he accidentally using his telekinesis to make one of his toys fly into his hand. His father was terrified, of course, so he sent him away. He was probably relieved that he finally had a reason to get rid of Carson. You see, they were a happy family once until his mother died when he was 6. His father completely shut down after her death, he blocked himself off and blamed everyone and everything for what had happened, including his son. His father could barely looked after Carson, hell he barely looked after himself.
For him it was too painful to even look at Carson, his own son. He'd yell at him for reminding him of his wife, talk about how his eyes were just like hers, how it was Carson's fault he was acting that way. So once he found out his son was a 'freak', as he could call him, he knew he finally had a chance to get rid of the boy he saw as a burden.
Carson spent a few months getting passed around from foster home to foster home. They never lasted more than 3 weeks. Once the news spread around about the 'gifted boy', it led him to land in the possession of the organization HYDRA. He was with HYDRA for six horrifying years and in that time he became their prized possession. Because he came in so young, they saw him as an easy target to manipulate. With his powers, they had a chance at raising the most dangerous killing machine Hydra had ever had to offer.
Their plans for the boy were thankfully ruined the day that The Avengers found the then 15 year old boy at one of the HYDRA bases they were attacking. When doing a quick sweep of the floors, Clint Barton stumbled across the boy in his cell, sat with his back against the wall staring into nothing, cuffs tightly placed around his hands to supress his powers. The team all agreed to take him in, but it was none other than Tony Stark who quickly grew an attachment to the boy and thought of him as his own son.
Carson spent the next three years living at the Avengers compound, along with the rest of the team, learning how to effectively use his powers for good with the help of the Avengers. He overall had a good relationship with the rest of the team as he saw them as his almost adoptive family. As he got older, Carson grew to form very sarcastic and witty character, which the rest of the avengers suspected that was Tony rubbing off on him, which was a part of it, but it was mainly just his way of dealing with the trauma of his time with HYDRA.
Now at the age of eighteen, he'd come a long way. He'd joined the team on multiple missions, and to top it off he'd even learned how to keep in control of his powers, he knew that he still had more to discover but he had plenty time for that.
