𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐁𝐑𝐎𝐎𝐊𝐋𝐘𝐍 𝐖𝐀𝐒 discharged, she decided against going home, taking Damon up on his offer to stay at the Boarding House. It wasn't that she didn't want to be home, but her and Bonnie's disagreement over Damon had escalated when she had seen them playing monopoly in the hospital.
"Damon isn't nice, Brooklyn, he's using you,"
She didn't want to be in the company of her sister any longer, scared it was going to end in another argument.
Hearing the doorbell, Brooklyn walked down the stairs, a white towel wrapped around her body from the shower she had just finished.
"Damon, who's at the door?" she asked, peering her head to try and see who was there.
"No one," he yelled back, trying to dismiss the younger Gilbert.
"Is that Bonnie's sister?" Jeremy asked with a look of concern on his face after jumping to conclusions.
After a bit of convincing, Damon eventually let Jeremy in and the Bennett and Gilbert exchanged awkward glances before she walked upstairs to get dressed.
Staring at herself in the mirror, she straightened her black dress, allowing the zip that protruded down the centre to show a tiny bit of cleavage but not too much. After adjusting her platform Mary Janes, she strolled down the stairs to make herself some food.
"Pancakes?" she asked, holding out three plates of freshly made pancakes that she had just put out. The whipped cream and chocolate chips made Damon let out a laugh as he took one of the plates.
"Little Gilbert?" she held the plate out, waiting for him to take it, which he eventually did.
Brooklyn had a feeling that the Gilbert boy was going to tell Bonnie about the encounter, which would no doubt end in an extremely uncomfortable conversation.
"Alaric, hey," Brooklyn sighed, relieved that Ric had come to levitate the awkward tension in the room.
"What are you doing here?" Alaric asked, looking at Jeremy.
"Helping Damon, I'm the one who found out about the moonstone," he huffed, crossing his arms across his chest and straightening his posture. Damon shrugged at the man who was clearly sceptical.
